I hate how I look

We had a celebration yesterday and DH took some pictures of me with our toddler, and I HATE how I look.

I'm 5 ft 5 and weigh 84 kilos. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, being an unmotivated slob who eats too many crisps and chocolate, have all done a number on me. I am NOT happy, and I really do understand the psychology of being happy with myself, but I need to lose 20 kilos.

Where do I start? I hate running, I don't have enough childcare, I hate most forms of exercise, I don't have time for long walks etc etc. I have loads of excuses, but basically I want someone to tell me 3 things to fix my life. Help!

Oh and take a full body photo in a mirror now- in a couple weeks /months you may not think you see a difference in the mirror but if you take a photo and compare them side by side it will really help! So many people regret not taking photos at the start of their weight loss journey as they are embarrassed by photos but you will appreciate it once you can compare :)

Great advice @Friedbanana !
Something else I also find really helps - the total weight loss you want to achieve can feel really daunting. But if you can calculate an expected weight loss eg 1lb every 5 days (or whatever MFP will give you) and then break your weight loss down eg by this date I will weigh X, it can feel a lot more doable. I literally have a list in my phone notes, of what I should weigh by when if I stick to the diet, then when I get to that date note next to it what I actually weighed. It's never exact - and obviously if I've had a bad weekend it can be a lb or two off - but it really gives me confidence that it's working, I'll get there! I found this really helps me.
Well done on making the first step OP!

@ZaphodBeeblerox I am 5 kilos heavier than you and feel the same. We have just been away for a few days and the house had bloody mirrors everywhere. I think I have got used to not looking at myself properly and it was a bit of a shocker.

If you would like some company on your journey I am starting (again) today.
I had started a couple of weeks ago and lost a couple of pounds but have now put it back on when away Hmm

How has your week been @Twilbury ?
I have logged a week on MFP, and signed up for an exercise class 2x a week (did one class already on Tuesday). And thinking about doing a few PT sessions to get me going.
