Losing 5 stone.

Hi all, I’m currently 17 stone 8 and 5ft 6. Since I met my husband we’ve both piled weight on. Less going out and more staying in eating takeaways, I’ve also had 3 miscarriages and definitely eat as a comfort mechanism. I’m determined to lose 5 stone- I’m not setting a time scale as I don’t think the pressure of that will work for me. We’re giving ourselves until Monday and then will be calorie counting. Would you say 1400 calories for myself it too high? I want to make sure it’s sustainable and not a short term fix, if love it if I had others to chat to and support each other along the way (share recipes/meals/snacks etc) if anyone else would like to join 😊

Hiya. You can use a TDEE calculator to work out your calorie requirements but if you're going to use an app like My fitness Pal then they will calculate it for you. Fwiw I think 1400 is a bit low to start with. You don't want to go too low too soon or you'll just make yourself miserable. This needs to be a lifestyle change that is sustainable long term so gently does it.

Good luck to you. I've been there and now making the push for the last few stone (lost 5 so far, had lost 7 but got sick and gained some back).
