When you’re on a diet are you just constantly hungry?

I have at least a stone to shift and have tried to moderate my food intake in a few different ways in the past but I always fail for exactly the same reason: I can’t stand feeling hungry.

I find the feeling really uncomfortable and it’s so distracting. I can hardly concentrate on work etc. It also puts me in a miserable and snappy mood. I’m really unpleasant company when I’m dieting.

Is there anything I can do resolve this?

Hi @Shedtheload - I've had binge eating issues in the past (and have dieted a lot too Blush) and I find intuitive eating brilliant for this - it stops me binging as I'm not craving what I've told myself I can't have. I also can't overeat when I'm tasting every mouthful.

You know what works best for you though of course. And I agree about health over aesthetics - I've lost weight recently and the appearance/clothes thing definitely feels like a 'bonus' compared to feeling better! Sorry to hijack your thread OP - I've just been there done that with diets and really find this (for me) a more sustainable route...

specialkitten that sounds great. I will look into it and see whether it’s something I can do now and try to work towards it. Well done for overcoming binge eating.

Also I try to eat at late as possible as once I start that's it.
Are you eating lots of protein? That tends to keep you feeling fuller.
WW I got on better than SW , you can eat their bars etc , but they don't push them. They work out a plan for you to follow and you have points per day and a list of free foods.
I really liked it.
