Slow weight loss?

Is it possible to lose weight slowly - or does your body get used to a slight deficit of calories?
I've been losing around 2-3 pounds a month - I'm quite happy with that if it continues but worried I'll have to keep cutting down to keep losing..
Has anyone done it this slowly?

It's absolutely fine. Best way, in fact, as you are turning it into a sustainable lifestyle choice (I assume). You will need to review your calories, though, because as you get lighter your body needs less energy . You can offset this to some extent if you work on building muscle.

That's encouraging!
I think this is the only way I can lose weight - if I go all out and slash, say, 600 calories a day then it just backfires and the weight loss isn't even particularly quick..
