Anyone found lunchtime soup is the way to go?

I've never eaten much soup before but am trying to keep my daily calorie intake below 1300 so am thinking of new ways of eating.
I've always assumed soup wouldn't fill me up but am reconsidering making my own.
Any thoughts?

I saw a documentary years ago that actually proved soup fills you up more than solid food. Whether this has been debunked now I don't know but it makes sense as to do with voume of liquid in tummy. I often have it for my dinner (with bread)
