Does anyone have any inspiring walking for weight loss success stories for me? Grin now I know it all comes down to what you eat but has anyone found that walking has contributed to weight loss success?

My cousin and her husband were both really overweight/obese (she had diabetes) and they started walking to lose weight and it really worked for them, and she helped her diabetes.
I'm hoping to do this myself, but with 2 dcs with ASD it can be hard to get out of the house!

Yay! Thanks for your replying. Great to hear that your cousins and husband both had success! Can imagine it must be so hard to get our with kids, especially with additional needs. Could they perhaps cycle and you power walk to keep up with them? Would have to be an enclosed park or somewhere really safe obviously!

DH and I started walking and calorie counting at the start of lockdown (UK) and he's lost nearly 2 stone while I've lost 1.5. His BMI was 25 and mine was basically 24 when we started. I really enjoy our walks now. At some point we added very short periods of jogging into them but injury, weather and energy levels interrupted that. I'd like to try them again though.

Anyway I think it's great.
