Anyone lost weight and kept it off with Obesity Code?

I am seriously obese and I was wondering if anyone has used Dr Jason Fung's diet from his book "The Obesity Code" to lose weight and keep it off. I'd also be interested in how you started please. I feel that going from my current eating habits to the fasting/lowcarb in one go may not be sustainable for me. Any tips really appreciated please.

Not specifically the obesity code but this is a combination of high fat:low carb and time restricted eating/fasting

I've been on this way of eating for 3 years. It's really really easy.....after the first few weeks!

It is a total mindset shift - fat doesn't make you fat, you don't really need to watch your calories, especially at first, and also everything in our society is set up to eat junk so you occasionally feel a bit of a freak.

Seeing as you have read the book, you will understand the process that your body will have to go through when you start to get it fat adapted and withdraw from glucose. It can make you feel quite poorly, genuinely a cold turkey withdrawal feeling but so long as you are expecting it and know it is short term, people get through it.

It really is worth doing it, I am a member of many groups and the success rate is phenomenal. Have a look on Reddit, Facebook (Keto UK Community is the biggest) and get some support from people also doing it, see the amazing progress pictures.

Meal plan. Use Diet Doctor or Ruled Me. Chuck out every piece of junk you own. Get electrolytes, especially in the withdrawal process. Don't worry about exercise in the first few weeks / months- unless you do it already.

I wish you all the best. It really is a life changer. My quality of life has improved expodentially since going on this way of eating. And obviously I am now super slim and it really is no effort.

p.s. You have to go all in

You can't just do it one day on one day off, at the very very least until you are fully fat adapted, which can actually take a good few months, depending on the healing that is required in your body.

I know it seems insurmountable at the moment to 'give up carbs' but once you have broken the craving in the first few weeks, you will never look back. You can quote me on that.

I'm a member of The Fasting Method (Jason Fung) website, which costs about the same as WW. There is so much information and support there, I'd really recommend it if you are going to use this method.

You may want to 'fat fast' (basically eat bacon and eggs and
salmon and avocados) for a few days before starting TRE/ fasting. It really helps to get going.
