Is there a support group for those with heart disease wanting to lose weight?

Hi, I'm looking for supper from other people with heart disease.
I'm 33, I have aortic valve regurgitation due to Elhers Danlos.
This morning I've hit my highest weight ever.
I need to do something about it, my mum died of heart disease during surgery in her 40's and I can't let that be me.

I have annual cardiac appointments and after the last one I promised I'd be healthier by the next one, well that's 5 months away and even though it's been cancelled I am heavier, more stressed than ever.
I don't have a plan but I need to do something.

I don’t have heart disease but I do have a close family member who was diagnosed with heart disease in his early 30’s (he’s 76 now) so I know I need to look after myself and shift the lard! I’m 12’12 and 5’5.

I've re downloaded MFP and will just have to go for it, I can't allow my kids to feel what I felt when my Mum died, I have to use that to work with.

I'm only 5ft so to get to the middle of my ideal weight bracket I need to lose about 60lbs 😳😱 I'm going to start with smaller goals.

Christmas is in just over 28 weeks so doing just 1.5lbs a week is 40 of those 70 pounds gone. I’m getting slimmer for my DS as well. It’s so hard but well done for making a start😊

Well that's a good way to think of it, by Christmas I could have lost a huge chunk of it and every lb is closer to being healthy. When the time comes for me to have my surgery to fix my heart I want to have every fighting chance of coming though it and being around until my twilight years to see my kids grow up.

My close relative had two triple heart bypasses before they were 47 and is now 76 😊. Hope that encourages you x

I was born with Shones Complex CHD
Ive had had 13 heart surgeries.
My consultants are always telling me me to keep an eye on my weight as being overweight creates extra work for my heart.

Like most people i put on a few pounds during lockdown but have started Intermittent Fasting (3 weeks in) and have lost 4lbs so far

I'm about 5ft and 8.3stone

My Mum was advised to lose weight, reduce her stress levels and give up smoking. She gave up smoking on and off but the weight and stress never changed.

I have taken a look at my day to day life to see where my high stress points are and see if and where they can be managed better.

I have yoyo dieted for ever but have never made and great inlays into the several stone I need to lose.

I don't eat breakfast anyway, I have a cup of tea and a cup of coffee in the morning and a ltr I don't eat until 12 and then again at 5pm so I guess it's a form of intermittent fasting. I will keep going and then once we're safely allowed out I will start exercising again.

Yeah exercise is difficult at the moment, usually i walk to and from work which takes about 40 minutes each way.
I have an exercise bike that i use as and when i can (i get very breathless so its difficult) and i have ankle weights that i bought online which i use whilst around the house so that while i am cleaning or walking around it becomes a weight baring exercise.
We can only do our best
