Dieting when you can't exercise

Any suggestions for good weight loss plans when you can't do any proper exercise?

I'm quite active usually and seem to maintain a steady weight I'm happy with.

Due to recent illness I can't do anything at the moment except very short walks, and already I can't fit into most of my trousers Confused

I'd be hopeless at the 5:2 type of thing but willing to try anything else, really.

Do you keep to a calorie count OP? I know it's cliche but dieting is mostly down to what you eat rather than any exercise.

I can't exercise. I calorie count on mfp and it works well for me. I can maintain my 52kg weight by calorie counting. I haven't exercised for 2 years due to heart and stomach problems.

Not routinely - I think I probably have about 1800 cals a day typically

I've actually just been looking at the 16:8 which would be doable for me as I'm WFH so can eat when I want.

Thinking about it maybe that's my real problem and not the lack of exercise Blush
