PCOS and weight loss

OK, I know it isn't an excuse, but I'm find it really hard to lose any weight with PCOS. Even with a strict diet, I can only lose a maximum of around 1lb a week and gain it back really easily if I eat anything I shouldn't. I have managed to get my BMI down from 38 to 36 and have stalled.
I know it's going to be a long and slow journey, and I'm not moaning (much!) just really after someone telling me it IS possible and I won't be stuck at this size forever!

Well done, definitely keep it up, I know how hard it is. It's that awful cycle of PCOS makes it harder to lose weight but being overweight makes PCOS worse. Has your GP got you on metformin?

I always find my body reacts better to a low carb, high protein/fat diet rather than just trying to calorie restrict completely, I think it's something to do with how sugar affects the hormone levels.

I have PCOS and can on a really strict week lose 3.5lb. Although similarly not be that bad and gain 3lbs. have recently started exercising and had a shorter menstrual cycle so I think a bit of exercise may help.

Found your post as I'm struggling to lose any weight too, OP. I think it might be the sugar cravings! Anyone else struggle with those? How are you doing now, have you found a good routine diet wise? I'd ideally like to try and lose a stone before the end of the year Confused
