Thanks both for the kind words re the gym. I think I do feel better for it, although I then feel justified in having a packet of maltesers or some such...
I'm in a similar state to you pukka/cylon with the carbs - I don't quite feel up to doing it properly at the moment.
Maybe next week after have got a party on Saturday out of the way!

Why don't you go and get some Thornton's diabetic chocolate/vanilla fudge/turkish delight?

I know that you have to be careful about the polyols (!) but if you have cravings for chocolate at least you can indulge them this way!

lo, yep, lets all blame our mothers.
it's their fault.

i was soo good all day, but it wasbil's birthday today, and i had to partake ofthe food. . two slices of pizza and two slices of cheesecake.
but i can feel myself getting back into the no sugar frame of mind. support and encourgament is key.
kkatisha, stay with us. do the party on saturday, but try to have as little processed carbs as you can mange till then. your clothes will fit better.
sally. send your mother a massive box of chocolates as her punishment.

OrmIrian · 16/11/2007 12:47

Low-carb sweets are not a good idea I find. If you can get rid of the cravings for sweet things life gets so much easier. I know it's hard but it is worth it in the end.
From the gospel according to lc Nanny
I've reached the point where I don't crave sugar, carbs or anything...in fact I don'r want to eat at all. Which is great for weight loss but makes life pretty boring

Ooh sally can we blame our mothers for having no willpower? Goodie!! Mum.... I want a word with you....

BTW, try eating some cheese with your soup. It makes it more filling and satisfying.

OrmIrian · 19/11/2007 12:09

Well, did OK until saturday night when we went to a fireworks party with kids and I ate a hot dog and a burger - both in bread rolls. Oh..and some roast potatoes... and some tortilla chips. Oops. But would have been excusable if I hadn't made a cup of coffee when I got home and snaffled a handful of bisuits too.

And yesterday I ate a small flock of pain au chocolat that happened to be sitting around in the kitchen looking lovely.

But on the plus side I did run 4 miles and ate very little else.

Well Strawb goodbye! But I think this thread has reached its end anyway tbh! Let us know how you get on with The Other Diet as I think many of us have been struggling of late with low carb only - if you suddenly shift a pile of weight I'll want to know how!
