Howdy Carbers .
I'm with you in spirit if not abstention (is that actually a word or have I invented a new one in my delirium? ).

Freshly painted wagon... check
Reinforced suspension... check
Positioned outside Last Carb Saloon... check
Lassoos at the ready... check

Thanks Strawb and Mazzy for the encouragement re the gym. I'm not a sporty person and haven't been to the gym for about 9 years now...But now DSs are both at school it occured to me that I could go a couple of times a week when I am working at home.

Anyway - where is everyone? All seemed to have sloped off after initial enthusiasm at start of this thread! Surely they're not back in the saloon?

mazzystar · 26/09/2007 17:00

strawb - they sound the business. i've never tried splenda though, is it ok? i mean its not full of nasties like aspartame?

kat - i've never been properly sporty, but i really liked the gym, even got so fit i was doing circuit training twice a week at once point. but now i'd only be able to go at night and ugh the very thought of walking or catching the bus home makes me shudder.

have had a virtuous day but i'm worn out and starving. feel like i've eaten quite a lot, maybe just tired and pre-menstrual. what does this look like?

breakfast - 3 slices cold roast turkey, small dollop of home-made mayonnaise
lunch - loads of prawns, half an avocado, 2 cherry tomatos, handful of coriander leaves, more of the mayo
snack, small tin of posh tuna in olive oil
for supper planning grilled steak and creamed spinach

Hellooooo ??? (echoooooo)

Mazzy I would say your Wednesday menu looked just fine. I also think splenda is probably fine, although my main objection to it is the spelling...

Ho hum - being induced into the dreaded gym tomorrow.

Where IS everyone?

mazzystar · 28/09/2007 22:10

hey katisha, how was the gym?

am trying to do induction without cheese or nuts, its not as bad as i thought it would be. end of day 2 and haven't strayed. but i am hungry. which is surely wrong.

ho hum

Katisha · 29/09/2007 14:43

Don't think I could do it without cheese actually...Rely rather a lot of cream cheese at least.

Well the gym was fine although I can see I am quickly going to develop a hate-hate relationship with the cross trainer machine. By the time I got to the glute muscle weights thing I was reduced to hysterical laughter... And stomach muscles feel terrible today.

So went out for anniversary dinner with DH which included a reaaly nice creme caramel pudding...Now I know this isn't the point of going to the gym really...sigh...

Well the dancing at least sounds good for you!
Plan is to go to gym again tomorrow morning after dropping off DSs at school. Stomach muscles have finally stopped hurting after last time...
Rather a lot of carb creep this weekend - must get back on straight and narrow tomorrow.
What did you decide on for the dissertation in the end?

Funny you should say that - I also have stinking cold. Came on very suddenly last night. I did wonder whether to go to the gym to see if it killed or cured, but decided not to. So might go Friday if I feel up to it. So have only been twice so far...

Woss non-concordance?

Is it only us left here?

Probably quite a few parallels with why people don't stick to their diets despite wanting to lose weight!?
I suppose people want magic pills largely...

Shall we declare this a dead thread then?

emotionalwreck · 08/10/2007 15:45

Sorry not been around for a while (again) but have a good reason this .....

I'm pregnant! I couldn't give a stuff about what I eat at the moment, as the windows of nausea free eating are very narrow at present!

However, I will be getting back on track with the GL diet once the 1st trimester is over as I had gestational diabetes the first time round...

so please let me join in now and again in between the vomitting etc

Congratulations Emotional! Excellent news. Come and lurk here as much as you like!

emotionalwreck · 09/10/2007 15:08

Fullmoon - I think me and oggsfrog dreamt up the original thread entitled carboholics anonymous - a few people joined our thread at the time thinking we were catholics anonymous!???

Anyway, I ran over a pigeon in my car this morning and had to stop on the very busy main road to throw up..... Oh the joys!

And carb confessions for yesterday involve macaroni cheese and chips. Not a vegetable or piece of meat in sight!

oggsfrog · 12/10/2007 11:26

Oh emotional, CONGRATULATIONS! (I'm very )

I've been sticking to it again and lost 8lbs last week . Not had anything to eat yet today as suffering from banging head induced by too much wine
