Hi all. I started this 'journey' at 12 stone. I'm 5'7" and 39 years old. I'm being really good at the moment only eating a low calorie diet within an 8 hour window. Drinking lots of hot and cold water. I'm doing Pilates twice a week, Zumba twice a week and running twice a week. I'm down to 11 stone and definitely more toned. I'm desperate to lose my tummy muffin. It will never completely go after having three massive babies but I find it really restricts what I can wear comfortably. And now I'm losing weight I want to enjoy wearing my clothes with confidence. Any advise on specifically tackling the tummy? I don't smoke, don't drink tea, coffee or fizzy drinks and drink alcohol in small amounts maybe three times a week. Thanks!

You can't target belly fat specifically. You can do exercises that strengthen your abdominal muscles which for some people can have a toning effect. But you can't spot reduce. As people lose weight their body will reduce where it wants to reduce. Its different from person to person. But unfortunately nobody can specifically lose belly fat without surgical intervention.
If you want ab focused workouts there is a ton on youtube. But again they are about strengthen the muscles not specifically getting rid of belly fat.

Have a search for Lucy Wyndham Read on YouTube- she has great videos that are only a few minutes long so you can pick and mix which ones are most appropriate for what you're trying to achieve. Good luck on your journey! I'd like to be where you are on yours!

Thank you for that. I shall look her up.

@littlem123 you'll find that as you lose more weight and body fat, that your stomach will slim down and come in naturallly.

Thanks. So no magic answers- just patience

I lost 6st 2 years ago and mine was super flat once I'd reached goal. I gained 3st back so it's all squishy again.

Wow 6 stone. Right. I can do this!
lou967 · 20/05/2020 13:37
@littlem133 you'll find that when dieting your body will use stored fat as energy. That results in your stomach slimming and it will flatten. Trust the process. You will do it!

Update- I weighed in at 10 10 today. I'm losing weight slowly but surely now and really notice a difference in my clothing etc including around my tummy. Thank you all!
