I’m also hypo thyroid but congenital rather than developed - I have no thyroid. I really struggle to lose weight. I’ve done slimming world and it didn’t work at all despite my sister and I doing it eating the same she lost I stayed the same.

What I find works is cutting back, cutting out all processed sugars and carbs so I still eat some fruit n potatoes etc but minimally as I find they put on my weight and hang about. Last thing, which I really struggle with as I’m lethargic/tired/lazy is exercise 30-60 mins 3/4 times a week but I’ve put on loads recently so need to start again problem is I forget how much harder the weight is to lose for me. It sticks but obviously you need to be on the right dose of meds too.
Sometimes you have to try a few things see which works for you, Smile

Lots of people find that low carb works well for thyroid problems. If you google autoimmune paleo there are lots of articles about how low carb eating can help heal your body after an autoimmune problem.

There’s a new boot camp about to start on here on 25th (this Monday Shock ) so you have a little time to get in some supplies if you want to get on board. It’s run by BIWI who is a low carb guru and gives tough love and encouragement!

I have Hashimotos (underactive thyroid) and have had some success with low carb in the past. Hoping it helps again this time as I have several stone to lose. If you fancy joining in, search for Low Carb Bootcamp sign up then check out the prep thread. Good luck! Flowers
