Apologies for the terrible title but I wanted to encapsulate the boss and how supportive everyone is.

i stayed low cal all day yesterday and enjoyed a lush dinner out including dessert or is it desert? i'll do my best to make good food choices for the rest of the weekend. exercise going well. although my knitting isn't...
:) barbies and little ones...a lifetime away oh along with sleepless nights...well not the kind involving young young ones.
stay positive everyone and make those conscious decisions towards good food choices or the better of two bad alternatives ;)

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 30/05/2020 18:32

@MrsJonesAndMe I predict evening snacking 😁 it's been hot today, which makes me less hungry.

Here is Barbie all re-haired, all it took was several hours, some wool, a brush and hair straighteners.

Impressive work torys

MrsJonesAndMe · 30/05/2020 21:12

Hi @fallfallfall I'm glad you're doing OK.

Wow, I like the hair! I'm hungry now, but just going to go to bed in a minute. 5AM is a looong time ago!

SunshineCake · 30/05/2020 21:48

I'm in bed. Just ate toast and marmite. Will regret it tomorrow but I was hungry. Also realised I am nine weeks late but has to be menopause.

I think you are missing your calling as a hairdresser @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 Wink have to say that hairdressing scissors are something I'm going to invest in soon, both my DC are desperately in need of a haircut as am I and no idea when we can get them to the barbers.

Our school have told us that if children don't go back on the day they re-open then they won't be able to for the rest of term - don't know if they'll end up being more flexible, but that was the plan. I assume they don't want to give parents the option to join later as they're already pushed for teachers and space, there's about half of each year returning.

@MrsJonesAndMe glad that you got to catch up with a friend, I'm still waiting for that! It can be really disappointing when people cancel; I have a good friend that I've known for 20 years but our friendship has dwindled over the past 3 years or so as she just keeps cancelling on me. There's been various excuses like illness, family issues, double booking (three times!) and simply her forgetting that we'd arranged anything and it's put me off even bothering.

I'm glad you got to watch the funeral @Foreverlexicon Flowers

And well done on your (weight and inches) loss @SunshineCake!!

DP bought us an Indian takeaway yesterday which I'm still eating my way through. Need to find the time to go through the fridge and make some meal plans... maybe I'll finally have more opportunity with the DC at school, even if it's only for a few hours?!

Foreverlexicon · 31/05/2020 05:03

Well done everyone. @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 that barbie looks great!!

Good day yesterday. A couple of hundred under for 1400 cals. Getting excited to weigh on Tuesday.
I compared some photos and measurements on Friday was showed a lot more difference than I expected. My stomach now is only an inch bigger than the thinnest part of my waist was in January 2019! Also tried on my size 10 jeans and they do up although I get a massive muffin top so still a little way to go before I can wear them presentably.

Yesterday’s food
B - banana and cappuccino
L - mushroom risotto and veg
D - steak and green beans
S - few strawberries, couple of bites of bacon and chocolate
E - 30 day shred

Pleased I managed to exercise as I was on a 10 hour early shift as it was and finished an hour late.

SunshineCake · 31/05/2020 06:55

I'm planning my new hair style, inspired by BarbieGrin. It looks great.

I'm fretting now about being so late. Rationally I know I can't be pregnant, I'm old, irregular peri menopausal periods, dh has has the snipHmm but I've never been this late, body looks different and I heard I'd more than one woman getting pregnant by her partner after his op.

I've also woken up feeling anxious and don't know why but I'm running today so hopefully that will help.

Worried about dd. She says she's only lost 3 kilos but I can really see it in her. Her wait is tiny, I can see her collar bone, she's always eaten like a bird, been able to just not eat for whatever reasons, huge will power over it, but now I am worried.

MrsJonesAndMe · 31/05/2020 15:16

Hi all

Oh no @SunshineCake that sounds like dangerous ground because you want to keep an eye, but you don't want make a huge issue. Hmm teens hey? Can DH get you test just to put your mind at rest?

Well done @Foreverlexicon I don't think I will ever see a 10 again, but that's OK by me.

Good luck for the children back at school @RubySlippers77, hope you get a much needed breather - even if it's just a coffee in peace.

I'm not doing very well either mood wise. I'm dreading the endlessness of this "new normal" all the bloody politicians keep going on about. Yes, as lock down has moved on, things have changed and eased, but really it's just an endlessness of being at home while trying to juggle countless things (and work) Hopefully tomorrow will be better despite it being back to the joys of home schooling too Hmm

Waves to everyone, enjoy your evening x

SunshineCake · 31/05/2020 16:34

Hi all

There is no telling dd anything. She gets away with murder but I have been clamp8g down on bad attitude and rudeness more lately. Regarding her eating, there isn't anything I can do as I can't force her to eat. She went to sleep at 3-4am, for up an hour again, ate a left iver sausage and went back to her room. I am doing a buffet tea so hopefully she will eat something but all I can do is offer food. Don't know whether to make her sit with us at meal times when if she's not eating. We called her for lunch but she was asleep and last time we woke her for food she ate nothing anyway.

Did a test. Negative. Just really panicked me this afternoon as I was feeling so tired.

Just been gardening. While trying to get a plant out of a pot to move it it just wouldn't come, until it did and a got a face full of soil with some going all down my top. Ten minutes later I was filling the watering can while attending to a hanging basket and somehow I dropped the can, water all down me, everything wet. I'm now in, in a clean dry dress and not going outside again Grin.

I hope you have a nice evening *@MrsJonesAndMe and feel better very soon.

My dd’s partner messaged me that she’s embarking on a 7 day water fast....
I suggested raw fruits and veggies....

Foreverlexicon · 01/06/2020 07:51

I’m a bit frustrated. I weighed myself and I’m only down 0.6lb from last week. I really thought I’d lost (this is still 1.4 up from before I start saw my partner) as I’ve been 100% on track the past 10 days and I last weighed in after lunch last Thursday when I was only 0.4 heavier. I also think I look thinner on my upper body. It’s time of the month though and I think I’m a bit bloated although usually AF doesn’t affect my weight. God knows. It’s just going to be frustrating if I undo my good work every time I see my partner but equally I don’t really want to stick to a diet when she’s here when I see her so infrequently so it’s nice to have some drinks and nice food! I guess I will just have to see how it goes next month; after this week I’m not seeing her until the last weekend of the month so I’ll get a better idea of whether I’m still managing to lose by then.

Yesterday I stayed in my calories and had;
B - overnight oats with berries
S - cappuccino
L - cobb salad
S - cappuccino
D - chicken and leek tarragon pot, potato and veg
S - chocolate
E - rode the horse

On a late shift today. I’ve woken up fairly early so I’m going to go for a run and will ride before work.

SunshineCake · 01/06/2020 11:01

Morning

*@fallfallfall that is a worry. Is it your DD that wants to do the water fast and your DDs partner is telling you ? I have decided to back off my dd. There is no telling her most of the time. I will cook food and be relaxed about what she eats while sneaking in bits. I used to make fruit lollies all the time when they were small and there are some ready in the freezer and she usually will drink homemade smoothies or milkshakes.

Oh I get the frustration *@Foreverlexicon. It is so unfair when you feel you have done well and the scales don't reflect that. Have all the nice food and drink with your GF but maybe have a slightly smaller portion. Also, are you sure you are eating enough? Please tell me what a cobb salad is as I age heard of it but not 100% sure what is in it.

I am have home made carrot, sweet potato and parsnip soup with one slice only of sour dough. I've walked the dog for 1 3/4 hours and I am about to go out to take the cat for his jabs.

Lots to do in the house, pottering, so I'll be keeping busy. I'm on 6074 steps and 4.37 km walked. My app thinks I've burnt off 858 calls but that can't be right!!

OP posts:
fallfallfall · 01/06/2020 16:01

DD’s partner messaged me regularly, mostly photos of my dd and the grand kids. He’s very kind. He also messages my dh regularly about business stuff.
Dd goes through these phases they never last, usually it’s vegetarian but she craves meat. Oh she’s a yogi, has drank her own urine...that didn’t last
Starting the month at 157!

MrsJonesAndMe · 01/06/2020 19:57

Hi all

That's a bit of a worry @fallfallfall but hopefully she'll come to her senses.

Oh that does sound unfair @Foreverlexicon but it's progress and if you look leaner, than that is a non scale victory.

Hope you survived the trip to the vet @SunshineCake

I have had such a stressful day, not sure how I've not taken my stuff and run away. Every bit as bad as I expected, but we're all alive, fed with a roast dinner and i haven't really stopped eating all day long - mostly crap. Great Sad

Check in with you all tomorrow.

SunshineCake · 02/06/2020 07:24

Hi *@MrsJonesAndMe. I was fretting while my cat was in the vet as he is a scaredy cat but the vet said he did really well and was fine. Phew.

So sorry you have had a stressful day yesterday. Anything you would like to talk about ?

I haven't slept well and feel anxious but don't know why. I am going to get up now, put a wash on, get dd up and then take my dog for her walk and my run. Later I will carry on with some gardening and make soup.

Hope everyone else is well.

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 02/06/2020 07:41

Thanks @sunshinecake it's just all getting on top of me. I told myself we'd be doing all this for about 10 weeks, but it's just stretching out into unlimited abyss of trying to juggle work/house/kids and homeschooling. It's exhausting and stressful.

Hope everyone is doing OK and have a good day. Check in with you all later.

Foreverlexicon · 02/06/2020 07:57

@MrsJonesandMe it’s so difficult at the moment and not knowing when it will end makes it much harder Flowers

@SunshineCake I make this salad www.skinnytaste.com/cobb-salad-in-a-jar-with-buttermilk-ranch/ it’s one of my favourite lunches and I wouldn’t say I’m usually a salad person.

Stuck to it yesterday
B - rice cakes with banana and peanut butter
L - couscous with veg and halloumi
S - mini twister ice lolly, 2 small drumstick lollies, iced coffee
D - leftover chicken and leek thing with veg, peach and a few strawberries
S - scone with jam
E - 5km run and rode the horse

I’ve mapped out roughly what I plan to eat and drink the next few days and if I stick to gin/rum for drinks rather than cider, it works out at 2 2000 calorie days and a 2500 calorie day so I think I’m going to try to stick to that. It’s plenty of nice food and drinks to enjoy but keeps it in check rather than going hell for leather which I think will make it easier to get back on track after.

I think it’s definitely hormone weight retention - I’m down half a pound today and that’s after less than 6 hours sleep. My belt also pulled up to a tighter hole for the first time (too tight to stay there but it’s never even touched it) so I’m sure the scale will catch up. I just struggle with an all or nothing, binge or restrict mindset and get quite anxious about it but hopefully this will help.

She’s arriving late afternoon so going to do a 40 min Jillian Michaels video, ride the horse and clean the house. I probably won’t check in for a few days

SunshineCake · 02/06/2020 11:38

Hope you feel better very soon, *@MrsJonesAndMe and there is always someone around to listen.

*@Foreverlexicon that recipe looks delicious and right up my street. Will have to prepare to allow for my intolerances but I am definitely going to make it. Have a lovely time with your GF.

I did my run and was out for two and a quarter hours with doggy who didn't want to come home. I'm make soup now then will do some gardening later and some other bits. DS1 is making dinner which is lovely.

I have lost weight since I got back on it but scared to jinx it if I report each loss.

I’m sorry to hear mrsjones stay strong.
forever refined sugar really stops my scales from moving at all.
I’ve got a nice routine happening movement wise, I think it’s helping the ankle and scale.
Today I’ll need to fit in some weeding, we’ve had the perfect weather for weeds...cool and damp.
Running low on soup selection, I’ll need to work on that very soon.

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/06/2020 19:47

Thanks everyone. Today has been marginally better.

Enjoy seeing your GF @Foreverlexicon
How is the leg @fallfallfall
Gosh, you're a busy bee @SunshineCake

Hope you're OK @Galvantula @RubySlippers77 and @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50

fallfallfall · 02/06/2020 20:00

ummm the leg...the ankle incision continues to burn...but movement is good and improved flexibility and strength is noticeable. i can balance on one foot (both left and right) longer, and i can go down 6" deep steps almost normally. the physio exercises are easy enough to do and to fit in.
i've started a tai chai flow, video series. as well as a walk series, both of which i do in the living room and involve some ankle movements that push my comfort zone.
biking daily the same route again helps with the slow repetitive motion.
so the ankles are healing in many ways but i would have expected the burning sensation to be gone by now, and the swelling both ankles are a bit thick.
like i said earlier, excess weight is certainly not helpful to the joints and i'll use the discomforts to help me stay focused and away from the really yummy frozen yoghurt dh purchased (chocolate chip and cappuccino).
mrsjones marginally better is good! baby steps :), can you identify what made it slightly better and what you could do tomorrow to keep it going in the right direction?

MrsJonesAndMe · 03/06/2020 14:48

Sounds good @fallfallfall
Unfortunately the things that stress me most, I have least control of - work and DS's home schooling. Yesterday I walked away in the afternoon and the chid (and DH) did such a piss poor attempt at the work and today the same, so then it just raises my blood pressure even more!

Cool and damp here.

Thinking of you all.
x

fallfallfall · 03/06/2020 15:40

The school situation is so strange. I really don’t understand can you share a bit more what’s happening/expected?
Dds two are nursery and year 1, and at that age schooling isn’t really a big deal. Not sure how much she engaged?

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 03/06/2020 16:40

@mrsjonesandme

We have switched schooling up a bit which is working well. We do t try to have 'sit here and do worksheets' type learning.

This week is pirate treasure hunt week.

DD gets a clue which leads her to a worksheet/activity/task, completing that gets her the next clue and so on. This means she's doing maths and English every day and enjoying it.

Then we cover curriculum areas like history, geography, science, life skills as part of other activities.

So a walk, through the park doubles as a science lesson where we try to find deciduous or evergreen trees, identify the parts of plants, describe the lifecycle of a frog or a duck while searching for the animal.

Gardening is about history, what was it like in the 'olden days', what kind of food did Saxons eat, what did they wear...

And so on

There is still lots of telly time and playing but this gives us the education without the drama of full on strops.
