This is a thing right?

Just wondering if I'm right.

For the past 3-4 weeks I have been jogging 4-5 times a week and doing 1 x 45 minute exercise session a week either cardio/fat burning or toning - that's going from doing 0 of anything before.
For the past week I've been watching what I eat and cutting out snacking.

I haven't lost any weight checking on the scales but I feel like my body is looking different and my legs and tummy area have definitely gotten smaller. It seems like I'm toning up as even though I haven't lost any weight yet I'm looking slimmer and feeling much better.

It's possible to look slimmer yet weigh the same right? Or am I loosing my mind?!

FYI I do know progress takes time and I'm not expecting instant results I'm just asking a question as I'm quite new to this.

Yes, it's a thing. Your body will retain more water when you increase exercise or lose weight. It will let go of it eventually.

Taking waist/hip measurements is often a more accurate way to spot progress.

At least you look slimmer! I’ve done Joe Wicks every day for six weeks (tomorrow), eaten healthily AND been for several 5k runs and I still look and feel plump. I think I have middle aged spread and must just now move into florals and the background of photos...

Same here ! I have tried to do 30 mins of something almost every day of lockdown and have only shifted 1 lb. I do feel slimmer and slightly more toned though. I was mostly doing cardio stuff like dance workouts so have tried to introduce some kettlebells and hiit workouts so make my body react. I dont really have alot of weight to lose so toning up would be great but am surprised by no shift in the scales.
