Can't lose weight - antidepressants

Hi

I have cross tapered from citlopram to sertraline I used to lose weight no problem on citalopram but cannot lose it on sertraline

Has anyone had this problem ?

Prozac is good for weight loss. Other ones make me eat carbs. Escitalopram was ok from memory, but not like prozac.

I just bought an alpha stim though and am off the pills and feeling the best I have in ages. After a while they stop working..

I’m taking olanzapine at the moment which has always previously made me pile on weight but this time I’m succeeding in losing albeit very slowly. The difference this time is I’m trying to eat mindfully. If I have an urge to snack I’m reminding myself that it’s a side effect of the meds and not real hunger and am having a piece of sugar free gum or a diet soda instead. With meals I’m trying to concentrate on enjoying the taste and texture of food rather than eating it quickly and taking more. I’ve also tried to increase my activity levels - some days this just means a long walk or a bit more housework than usual.

It’s not been easy but so far it’s working this time.

What's an alpha slim please?

Hi an alpha stim is an electro therapy device - you just put the little electrodes on your ears then sit quietly (I usually read a book etc). Yes I put on 5 stone with sertraline, I stopped taking it.
