Yahey - cheesy balls. Well done agalch - fab job. Thanks WWB for sorting the weights out.

JackieNo · 14/09/2007 18:06

(No cheesy hippos available then?)

agalch · 15/09/2007 07:14

Mmmmmm i love a chocolate eclair me!!!

Ate and drank loads last Sunday too.Was ds1's 16 birthday party so not sure how the 2lbs came off but i won't complain lol.

JackieNo · 15/09/2007 08:09

Bit more incentive for me - while picking up DS from nursery yesterday, one of the little girls asked me whether I had a baby in my tummy. No, I said, that was just the shape I was. And another little girl chimed in with 'Yes, my mummy's got a big tummy too'. Wasn't really upset, but it did make me feel a bit sad.

WigWamBam · 16/09/2007 17:38

Oh Jackie. It's a horrible feeling, isn't it.

My concern now that dd is a bit older is that she is bullied because of my size. One little boy last year worked out that it upset her more when he was rude about me than when he was rude about her, so used to tease her about me - which really wound her up. But I suppose if it hadn't been my size it would have been her glasses or something else.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 16/09/2007 20:40

It is rather horrible. Although obviously they were 4 year old girls, and weren't being nasty in any way - just asking the question, and being factual about it.

Found out on Friday afternoon that DD's going to have her 'extra' tooth removed this week. She's got a pointy tooth growing out of her palate, just behind her front teeth, and so she's going to have it removed under general anaesthetic on Wednesday lunchtime. Which I'm really not looking forward to. Got to be done though, as it's stopping other 'proper' teeth developing normally. I've been chasing them - we'd had to cancel the original appointment that had been made back in May because DH wasn't around, and as it turned out, it would have been the week she had chicken pox, so she wouldn't have been able to go anyway. Now we've had this cancellation through at v short notice. I guess she (and I) will be out of commission for 2 or 3 days. Lots of soup will be consumed, I guess.

WigWamBam · 16/09/2007 20:42

Oh, poor dd - sounds horrible. When will it be happening? Will they let you stay with her while the anaesthetic takes effect?

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 16/09/2007 20:45

(Sorry - just noticed you said Wednesday lunchtime. If all else fails, read the posts properly ...)

OP posts:
JackieNo · 16/09/2007 22:23

Not sure whether they'll let me stay. I suspect the worst thing for her (until she wakes up with a huge hole in her palate) is going to be the 'no food after 6.30am and no more than a total of an egg-cup full of water between then and 11am.

ForcesSweetheart · 16/09/2007 23:30

Just a quick hello ladies. Not been around for a while as we've had so much going on. DH was home for a couple of weeks r&r, I passed my driving test, and in November I'm having gastric bypass surgery. Hope you're all doing well. I do still lurk now and again (thought don't get the time as often as I'd like) to see how you're all getting on.

JackieNo · 17/09/2007 08:05

Hello ForcesSweetheart - lovely to hear from you again. You have been busy - congratulations on passing the driving test. Hope you had a lovely time with your DH. And good luck for the surgery - do let us know how it goes, and don't just lurk - post!!

TigerFeet · 17/09/2007 09:38

Hello all and well done Agalch

Well I have had another crappy crappy week. I think I am going to give the weight posting a miss for a while until I sort my head out, my eating is all over the place atm (again) and the weight is going up. I'm only torturing myself by weighing and I am hoping that by giving up the obsessive morning weigh in I will concentrate less on my weight and that in turn will sort my eating out (you never know, it might work )

I'll still be posting though - we've all been a bit quiet of late though haven't we? Must Do Better

WWB, ikwym about size being a factor at the school gates. DD goes to nursery and there are a multitude of Yummy Mummies there that make me feel like a badly dressed hippo most mornings. Fortunately dd is too young to pick up on these things yet but I'm sure the time will come . Kids being kids though, they will always find something if they want to pick on someone

JackieNo, hope all goes well for dd on Wednesday. I had a GA for tooth removal when I was 12. It all went well and the holes healed up fairly quickly. The weirdest thing was waking up in a different room to the one I was sent to sleep in, that freaked me out a bit, but other than that I don't remember any problems at all.

ForcesSweetheart - hello . Well done on passing your test, it's so liberating to be able to drive yourself around isn't it?

Must get on - have set my self a target of less MN this week at work before I get myself into trouble!!

Kewcumber · 17/09/2007 16:39

hello I did weigh on Friday but was taken aback by WWB's efficency at starting a new thread.

It was my post-holiday shocker and I have put on loads and loads so will email WWB now and start again even if it is mid week. Am terrified that I am slowly backsliding and putting back on all the weight I lost in Kaz.

New determination this week then...

JackieNo · 17/09/2007 16:45

Hi Kew.

TigerFeet - as long as you don't stop posting altogether, that's fine. We like just chatting (though you're right - we seem to do it less than we used to).

Would you believe I've just come back from a 25-minute run. Can't believe I can keep going for that long. Mind you, I'm not built for speed - I'm still being overtaken by people walking their dogs.

agalch · 18/09/2007 07:09

Morning all

Haven't posted for yonksI never do when i am putting on reguarly.

JackieNo i can't run to save myself.Do you mean you run for the whole 25 mins? Don't know if my lungs or pelvic floor could take it mind you
My son had a tooth extracted when he was 5 because a tooth was growing out the front of his gum so prob not the same thing but a GA was needed. It was awful but within 1.5 hrs he was asking for a McD's so i am sure she will be fine xx

Have eaten really badly this week.My friend and i are both off today and we are going to the Chinese Buffet so that'll be yum this afternoon.

Dd's awake so catch you all laterxx

JackieNo · 18/09/2007 07:15

Morning agalch. Don't worry about posting weights - just do what TigerFeet's going to do and stick to chatting for a while.

I'm hoping DD will bounce back quite quickly, but it will probably leave quite a big hole, so I don't know just how long it will be really painful for.

Yes - 25 minutes without stopping. I'm pretty amazed at myself, though I have had to work up to that over the last 7 or 8 weeks (doing this routine of running and walking). I'm still by no means fit, but seeing an improvement is very encouraging. Still not quite brave enough to run along the streets though, which does limit where I run, but must try to get over that.

agalch · 18/09/2007 07:29

JackieNo,ds had a biggish hole but it healed up pretty quickly so fingers crossed for dd(((hugs)))

Where do you run then? Don't think i have anywhere here except streets. Will have a look later at that.I am a bit fed up of the gym tbh and would maybe try running. I do go to belly dancing again tho which is really good fun. You are not meant to be thin for that which is great for my friend and i lol.

Good luck for today and be brave xx

littlemisssensible · 18/09/2007 10:35

Hi All,

Well done Agalch! I don't suppose there is any eclaire left is there [wistful emoticon] oh well I'll make do with chessy balls....they're nearly as good!

JackieNo I'm amazed at your running prowess! I can't run for more than about 20 seconds with out collapsing, I tend to stick to a fast walk but I can only keep that up for 20 mins so you beat me on all counts! I hope dd's tooth removal isn't too painful and traumatic for you both (probably worse for you!) and that it heals quickly.

ForcesSweetheart its lovely to hear from you, well done on passing the driving test and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you in November. Don't forget to let us know how it went, and son't just lurk...post!

Tigerfeet good luck with the MN target!!!! I usually fail miserably with that one - though I save time by just lurking! (I'm a very slow typer). Sorry you've had a crappy week, I think you're right to ignore the scales for a while, I find that often helps if I've got back into bad eating habits.....sort of a 'Oh well I'm getting fatter anyway so I might as well stuff myself silly and enjoy it'! Don't stop posting though, even if you're not weighing in!

KewCumber I'm sure you're not really backsliding. It's just the holidays! I always find it impossible to keep to any kind of routine during the holidays, and when that goes so does my healthy eating and self control! (Maybe thats just me ) Oh well 3 months of routine and being good.....then its Christmas !

Kewcumber · 18/09/2007 11:19

I remember running. I gave it up at about the point that I lost sight of my feet. Am emailing you my weight from last week WWB.

littlemisssensible · 18/09/2007 11:20

It can be difficult to chat because when things are going badly I don't want to inflict my personal misery on everyone else and when its all going swimmingly I worry that being chirpy and bright might hack people off!!!

I know, I worry too much! I'm always being told! And when I look at dd agonising about the best way to tell the annoying little (approx 4) girl from up the road that she really doesn't want to play princesses (dd is 9!), without hurting said girl's feelings, I know where she gets it from!

Kewcumber · 18/09/2007 11:22

silly isn't it LMS - yet when we're down should be exactly the time we talk to otehrs who understand. I like poeple moaning when they're down - it makes me feel more normal!

littlemisssensible · 18/09/2007 11:29

You may regret saying that at some point Kew!!!

WigWamBam · 18/09/2007 11:32

Kew's right. That's what we're here for - so that we can sound off when things get bad. If someone needs to talk, there will always be someone else to offer a shoulder and maybe a different perspective.

We used to do that a lot - but seem to have lost it a bit recently.

OP posts:
MrsJohnCusack · 18/09/2007 11:33

am at Jackie. Well done! and good luck to DD

I am soooooo busy at the moment, hardly getting any chance to post on here or do anything really, plus still not getting enough sleep. But I haven't - amazingly - put any weight on

will have more time from next week when I get my evenings back. (DS wasn't sleeping in the evening for a while, then have been doing show since last week)

the teething hell seems - crossed fingers - to FINALLY be abating a bit so maybe I will get my sanity back (what's left of it)

Is it time for a round of arse-kickings?
