are my scales rubbish or does weight really vary a lot through the day?

trying to lose weight and doing really well so far, but my scales (digital) can show a variation of as much as 1.5kg between different readings taken on the same day. is this normal? is my weight really changing this much over a day or is the scales reading unreliable? do things like temperature and humidity affect the weight that the scales will say? should I consider the lowest or highest reading to be more reliable or should I take an average?

I would expect your weight first thing before you get dressed to be 1.5kg lighter than later on once dressed and started eating and drinking. I wouldn’t expect it to go down though, u less you are fasting.

no idea OP but I wonder the same. My weight varies by 3 pounds week to week and dont know whether to trust them or not.
I weigh myself every week same time; over the last 3 weeks its gone 9st 5, 9st 2, (yay!) 9st 5 again, how can this be?

Yeah mine varies massively depending on the time of day I weigh myself. It can be as much as half a stone 😱

That's totally normal

I weigh myself first thing in the morning only for this reason.

Yes, I'm 2lbs heavier when I go to bed than I am when I get up, everyday without fail.
It also increases a lot in the days before and during my period.
