Finding it hard to lose weight after baby

I gained about 3 stone during pregnancy so definitely on the upper limit! I did however look very neat and mainly concentrated around my bump, with a bit extra on boobs and hips. I now have that lovely deflated balloon look of course!

I’m exclusively breastfeeding, 11 weeks after baby and the weight is coming off so, so slowly and keeps stalling. I was losing a pound a week but now haven’t lost a single pound in 4 weeks! I walk just short of 5 miles a day with the pram and I’ve been using MyFitnessPal app to track calories, eating a 500 calorie deficit and that’s ignoring the extra 500 or so from breastfeeding. I’m still eating healthy and no issues with milk supply but it just won’t come off and I’m getting really disheartened as I’m trying really hard and doing all this waking despite 5 hours broken sleep every night.

Is this plateau / very slow loss normal? I thought breastfeeding helped weight loss

I found that I really struggled with weight loss while breastfeeding, couldn't lose weight at all! Stopped when DD was 2 and the weight dropped off practically overnight. Gained it back since, but that's from overeating....

I found breastfeeding and pregnancy slowed my metabolism. I have always been slim and able to eat what I want and with each pregnancy I put 23 kilos!! That is over 3 stone! I breastfeed each baby and it takes almost a year to lose it all. I’m on my third baby and this time it’s come off slightly faster. But I have 5 kilos left. Baby is 4 months so similar age to yours. My weight comes off usually a kilo a month!! After the initial big drop of 13-15 kilos I get the first couple of weeks. I hate that it comes off so damn slow!!! I feel fat and don’t like it. But at least it comes off eventually. As long as it’s coming off and you are not gaining don’t worry too much. It sounds like you are doing all the right things. And it took 9 months to gain it all so give that amount to lose it (or more as it took for me!!).
