Weight loss surgery

hello all,

I would really like to hear from people who have had weight loss surgery. I am starting to seriously consider it. I want to have children but my bmi is 50 and I struggle very much to lose weight. I’ve been overweight my whole life and I feel desperate.

Does anyone have any advice or where to look for surgeons? Cost? What to consider? Tips?

Thank you

I had a gastric sleeve September 2019. I’ve had complications though, and have lost too much weight, I’m now underweight with severe vitamin deficiencies, that I’m trying to address through medication. I’m also under the surgeon for investigation as to why I’m still losing weight. I was 16 stone, and I went down to 7 stone 2. I’ve managed to claw some pounds back on by basically stuffing my face with junk and high calorie foods. But it is a constant struggle. I feel so tired all the time and I look shocking.

I’ve posted on various bariatric weight loss groups about not being able to stop losing weight, only to be met with comments such as ‘what a nice problem to have’ or ‘I wish that was me’, but they don’t really, not if they knew how problematic my life has become because of this surgery.

Everyone is different though.
