I've spectacularly fucked up my New Years fresh start

My plan was to get my fat act together on January 1st. This has unfortunately failed and I really want to do this.

Today is my new fresh start.

Please join me.

I'm trying to replace empty calories with nutritional ones at least. Also sticking to 1200 but trying to avoid 'low fat' subs as just want to also be healthy. I have slipped and had a bit of chocolate but I had less than usual! I am also vegetarian.

I was 10lbs 10oz last monday. Weighing in at 10st 3.6 this morning!

Just start again, I don’t think Jan 1st is the best time for a new start, too many Christmas treats still hanging around, dreary weather, a bit of a ‘down’ feeling after Christmas.

I am planning to start low carbing in Feb and using this month to plan & prepare.

LBB2020 · 13/01/2020 12:16

I’m starting from today after not getting my act together at new year! All the Christmas treats have been eaten and a healthy food shop was done yesterday.
I’m going to use MyFitnessPal and aim for around 1400 calories per day. Weighing in at 10st this morning, I’m happiest at around 9st5lb

Beebumble2 · 13/01/2020 15:42

Amazing 800 cals a day for two weeks is a bit drastic. I am doing 800 every other day, free eating in between, your appetite diminishes as does craving sweet things.
It works, I did it 5 years ago and lost 2 stone. A little has crept on, although my clothes still fit. I’m doing it again just to lose those extra few lbs.

PurpleDaisies · 13/01/2020 15:45

You need the first week to recover after Christmas and get through most of the leftover food. I always start a kick this week instead. You haven’t failed.

I’m just going for eating more sensibly and exercising which normally works for me. I’ve got the same post Christmas half a stone to lose as every year. I’ve been to the gym, has homemade soup and made a veg curry for tea so I’m feeling good here.

Skyejuly · 13/01/2020 15:47

I do wonder if feeling good should be important for me rather than massive calorie obsession...but for now I will try my best to get under 10stone and then hopefully under 9 back to 8. Well see.

Hows everyone getting on? Just signed up to try ww again. I'm fed up of not knowing what to eat - I've tried that many diets I've confused myself. Have done ww before (for wedding weight loss and losing baby weight after first DD) so know it works. Just doing a batch of 0pt soup to kick off with.

LBB2020 · 14/01/2020 21:25

I’ve managed to stick to below 1400 calories but haven’t done any exercise yet this week. Will try to do a dvd or YouTube video tomorrow evening.
Good luck at WW @Skinnydreams

@Beebumble2

Yes I've spoken to the Dr this week who has recommended I don't do it. They've given me some blood tests and told me that if they come back fine they would advise me to do 5:2 style not the 800cals for 2 weeks because my vitamin levels have a habit of dipping. I'm frustrated because I'd like to shift the weight and feel better but Dr MM says not to do it if you have other health conditions and to get advice, so I'm going to have to wait and see and go gently. I'm struggling with working out what I'd eat on it anyway now that I've tried to plan it. I'm just going to keep making small healthy changes and trying to make better choices.

Beebumble2 · 17/01/2020 19:02

You could start with small changes to your usual diet, such as having fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, no cereal or toast. Also eating more vegetables rather than filling up with carbs.
I hope you find a way that suits you, begin to lose the weight and reach your goal.

Glibert82 · 18/01/2020 18:25

How’s everyone doing? I did well with sticking to my calories, weighed myself on Friday and had lost 1.5lbs which I was pleased about.
Today I think I have undone all my hard work and have eaten my body weight in chocolate (AF arrived). I’m going to get back on it tomorrow and make sure I do some exercise next week as I didn’t do any last week

Skinnydreams · 18/01/2020 20:14

I was doing well until yesterday, have come down with an awful head cold and I'm craving crap.

Back on it with you tomorrow as I have still managed to drop 2lb since tuesday that I dont want to put back on!
