I know this is a very self indulgent thread but could someone say well done?

After Christmas last year I decided I had to lose weight. I've now lost about 5- 6 stone. Not sure exactly as i am too scared to get on the scales. But I have gone from a size 22 to 12. My husband has said for years how unattractive my being overweight is. I have finally done something and he has never said a word. Not one. It hurts.. I know how self indulgent and send focused it us but I would just like someone to say well done. For everyone else struggling with weight loss I understand xx

I totally get it , I'm coming up to 7 stone lost and at 5 I lost my rag with DP for not mentioning it.. he had a good reason but I completely get it.

It's a huge achievement no-one seems to get how it's the achievement of every time you powered through when you were tempted, the fact you broke old bad hugely tempting eating habits.

You really have done amazingly OP, I know how hard it was at times for me , so I completely get it.

It's a massive achievement be proud

That is an AMAZING achievement!! Bloody well done you. You must have amazing will power and resilience.

Your ‘D’H, on the other hand, is a colossal bellend. What a horrible way to treat your partner. Bet he’s one of those who liked you, as he thought it, less attractive to other men, and was happy to have an excuse to stick the boot in. He’s Probably also feeling pissed off and jealous of your massive achievement, while he has achieved nothing like it.

Does he usually like to piss in your chips?

To use a mumsnet cliche, it's sounds like you had a DH problem not a weight problem! Well done for losing the weight, enjoy the new slim you. Perhaps it will give you the confidence to demand to be treated with respect and love.

Screw him! I am so mad at mine for only acknowledging my weight loss as a virtue signal when we are socialising with friends and one of them comments. THEN he will be Mr Supportive and say “Yeah, she looks great, doesn’t she?” Otherwise, I’m just as invisible as I always was.
Congratulations! I know how hard it has been to lose that weight!!! I don’t know about you, but I’m now wondering if I need to lose a separate 90kg human being.....

That's amazing. You have achieved what I've promised myself (every year for past decade) and failed. The first stone is easy enough - but you persevered. If I'd managed this I would be over the moon. He is probably wondering if you intend to ditch him as well as the weight! Ignore him. Enjoy every moment - buy loads of new clothes - get your hair cut - dance (I miss dancing!) - run for buses and catch them - do all the things that fat stopped you doing - and leave the miserable sod to worry that you're out of his league!

Well done, OP. That's a major achievement. I'm not one who think people should lose weight for esthetic reasons. Your health and wellbeing are what is important

Maybe he didn't want you to think that he didn't love you whatever size you were.

Well done OP, you and other ladies on here who have lost 5+ stones and multiple drrss sizes are inspirational to those of us beginning to lose weight. You make me believe that if you can do it and I can do it too!
I'm not going to comment on your DH as it's the season of good will to all men but why the hell are you scared to get on the scales! Take a photo of your new weight have it blown up to poster size - celebrate it 🎉

I really think you need to think about your marriage though. H doesn't sound nice.
I'm around a 20 to 22 and I've lost a stone and a bit so far. It's so hard!

Well done, that's an amazing achievement! Seems odd your dh told you he found your weight unattractive yet can't compliment you on what is a bloody brilliant weight loss.
Sod him. You look after yourself & find a way to maintain that suits you. You'll look fab & he'll be a surly faced twat who is probably insecure about how good you now look.

I've lost 5 stone this year and my DH tells me loads how proud of me he is.

It's a huge achievement. You should be super proud of yourself. You deserve a partner in life who supports and recognises you - as you would him.
