Anyone used fat analysis weighing scales?

Losing weight now but want to join the gym to do weight training - so was thinking I will need to measure % fat rather than weight - as will I put on weight but get slimmer IYSWIM - don’t want to get demotivated.

Those machines are very unreliable. Take monthly photos instead.

I have a Fitbit Aria. It bloody makes up the fat analysis. It got me and DH mixed up as we are very near in weight now and told him he was 40% fat. Once I'd explained to the scales he was a man it suddenly went to 20%.
Don't waste money on them.

Thanks all - saved me £££’s and distress.
Last time I found trying on an old pair of trousers each month helpful in seeing how I was doing.
