How to get over emotional eating

So I've been trying to loose weight for a while now, but my thing is that I'm an emotional eater. I suffer with anxiety a lot so that's a trigger for me with eating. A long with stress or feeling sad.
How can I get control of this? I feel like I dont eat that much during the day when I have what we call a 'good day' emotionally. But I feel like I'm anxious more then I'm not anxious so it's a real problem

Hi @MummyAndSon2000. I don't really have an answer for you. I also suffer with anxiety on a daily basis. Some days are good others are not so much. What I do feel the need to say is don't be so hard on yourself. I Find the more I punish myself the worse I get in my eating habits. First thing is first in dealing with your anxiety. I personally have found that CBD helps me rationalise my anxious thoughts. If you haven't heard of this before do a google on the benefits of CBD. xx

Can you think of some foods that will feel comforting but are better than what you are currently turning to? For instance if it is chocolate could you try having a low cal hot chocolate drink? If it is carbs, maybe have some bircher muesli with berries?
