I have taken up running.Iv been doing it for about 5 weeks and now run 2miles 5nights a week.
I havent changed my eating habits and am not losing weight.I eat very large portions but wasnt gaining weight,so figured I would lose some.
I now gather that im possibly turning fat into muscle.
It takes me about 25 minutes to run the 2 miles. Can anyone tell me how many calories this would burn please?
I go running at 7.30.When would be the best time to eat my dinner?
Is it ok to eat a yoghurt and a glass of milk after my run at about half8 as I seem really hungry after my run??
I only need to lose a stone and a half.ow can I do this??
Im fed up with failing!!!
I love food so much!!!
Mmmm dont we all eh!!

mum2oliver - Just thought I would bump this for you as they I questions I would like answered too. When people calorie count is it just a matter of starting the day with a certain amount of calories and then deducting whatever you eat regardless of fat content etc. Also, I started running recently with a view to weightloss, and although I feel physically fitter and recover from exercise faster I have lost nothing in weight. I think like you say we may be turning fat to muscle. I am having a nightmare trying to lose weight so I have now come to the conclusion it is better to be fat and fit than just fat

mum2oliver...jion us on the 10/10 thread...you will start eating so many fruit and vegetables...you can't eat as much off other stuff
There is also an Exercise Buddie thread which is excellent for motivation and there are some people that know a fair bit about these things.
Other then that...the whole calorie thing...well....apparnelty it si meant to work, etc....however, sometimes, not sure...like, apparently flicking the TV remote from one channel to the next burns appanrelty like 1 calorie, so, if you flick it like 500 times do you burn 500kcal...I somehow doubt it....

maybe changing what you eat ratehr then the portions would help?
