Hello hello! I started a reply on the app but I guess I got distracted, apologies!
BOOP that is so bitterly disappointing, I absolutely hate it when that happens. I see it's now evaporated so it was just a blip, but there's absolutely nothing worse than a kick in the face for all your hard work! Sober October will absolutely have the weight dropping off you. I've still only ever managed 11 days at a stretch off the sauce, I'm in awe of you
paws that is absolutely staggering I am so so sorry, you poor thing! Was the gastroenteritis related to the shingles, or just absolutely hideous bad luck? You're quite right to bench the diet until you're back on your feet, you'd be bonkers to think about calories when you just need to be focusing on getting better. I know what you mean about Lucozade but gosh, thank goodness you could keep it down - you need those calories for your body to fight off the shingles, imagine how screwed you'd be if it weren't for those fizzy wee calories. Bet you won't want to look at a Lucozade ever again when you're back on the solids though
Red and Kick you BOTH get to feel extremely, wonderfully smug with those incredible running achievements I simply couldn't begin to run 15K in under 2hrs, and takeaways and feasts are hard-earned and very much deserved by both of you.
sweetsorrow I love a surprise loss, congrats! I always feel they make up for the extremely mean experience of being golden and not being rewarded. It's sooooooo hard to just keep plugging away at it though, isn't it, especially when you look at yourself and just feel you've still got a long way to go. 17lbs is a tremendous achievement and you should be enormously proud. and if you're in a XS tracksuit you must be getting very trim indeed! One of the reasons I used to keep switching up how I weighed myself was because it meant I could keep going for different milestones, switching between "I've lost half a stone!" and "I've got a new kg bracket!" and "I've lost 10lbs!" etc., to keep the sense of achiement alive. You could try the same, celebrate a nice round 20lbs soon, then shoot for a nice round 10 kilos, then or 2 stone, etc.
Peri 3.5lbs in a week where you've been housebound and poorly is really quite amazing, you must be very chuffed. I really feel your pain on the coughing - I always used to finish up colds with a dragging cough which seemed to go on and on and on, it drove me barmy.
Well, my own news is that I was a modest 300g down on Friday. Not much to shout about but I'm pleased the scale's still moving. My aim for October is to lose 1kg, so 300g is a fair start...!
