Kick Start.....

I've always struggled a bit with my weight (top heavy, wobbly mid section, size 10/12 though) but put on SO much weight whilst pregnant.
My daughters about to turn 1 and I've probably lost 1/3 of the baby weight. I caught a glimpse of myself in a shop mirror yesterday and I am HUGE!
I've lost weight before and I've maintained (until pregnancy) but this time around, I just can't maintain anything for longer than 2 weeks for a variety of reasons - I'm also a boredom eater.

Has anyone got any 1 week diets/plans that will massively kick start weight loss? If I can lose 5/6 lbs in a week (even if water weight/bloating), I think I'll be more inclined to work harder long term in changing my habits.

Hope this makes sense! Thanks for your help x

Slim fast do a kick start box. A week worth of snacks and meal replacements. You just need a fruit snack every day, two of their snacks, two meal replacements and a 600 calorie meal. I lost a lot the initial week then it’s slowed to a sensible pace.

I consistently lose 3 or 4 pounds a week (or about a stone a month) on:

  • no breakfast
  • black coffee or water all day to drink (lots of). I have artificial sweetener in my coffee, not good for purist clean eaters but I don't care.
  • lunch at around 12-1pm of: one pepper, sliced. 3 celery sticks, chopped into thirds. Half tin of smashed up chickpeas to dip sticks in.
(Sometimes add 1/3 cucumber in sticks or an extra pepper if hungry)

Dinner at around 5-6pm of either

  • large portion of chicken or fish, steamed. Huge selection of steamed above-ground veg. I make a massive, heaped plateful.
  • a similarly massive, heaped plate of plant-based salad. 80% will be lettuce, cucumber, celery, peppers, tomatoes. Then some slightly carby or protein plant either in the form of underground veg (beetroot, carrot) or pulses/seeds. I have low calorie dressing on.

I aim to burn at least 2000 calories a day, set my minimum step target as 15k and do 30-60 mins cardio exercise per day (I do a run with my dog).
