Oh OP you were an absolute PEACH! Look at that smile! Grin

So sorry to hear about your mother and sister. I don't honestly know how people cope with deaths close together, I was thrown completely out of kilter when my Dad died and would have shattered if I'd had a second one within a year. Within two years really. I see what you mean about thinking your weight is essentially unconnected, but I still think it can be extremely hard to find motivation to do anything about it, so you should still give yourself a pat on the back for throwing yourself into it.

FlamedToACrisp · 27/09/2019 20:22

DAY 26
Weight: 16st 4 lbs
Exercise: Walked to the corner shop twice... once to buy loads of sweets and once to buy loads of fruit!
Mood: Meh

Breakfast: none (visitors scoffed my bananas)
Lunch: Cheese salad sandwich , handful of cheese savouries, handful of grapes
Dinner: Eating out with our guests - Steak pie, chips and carrots, and, erm… erm... Blush a big Cookie Crunch icecream sundae with cream, toffee sauce etc. This meal may have knocked my diet back by a few days Sad but it was yummy Grin
Drinks: Diet Pepsi
Snacks: I don't believe I've earned my sweeties tonight, so will console myself with a little bowl of grapes and 'cutted-up' strawberries to nibble.

Hi! Well done on keeping up the diary! We are all invested in you now!
I’ve been trying to eat better too but last night I had pizza and fairy 🧁 cakes so I’m back on it this morning.

I too lost my mum suddenly earlier this year. It’s devastating.

Any good ideas on how to get rid of perfectly good leftovers which no one wants to eat except you, before you're tempted to eat them?

I've obviously reached the end of the easy bit, as I've stopped losing weight, even though I've worked hard physically for the last 2 days. Now I'll have to start counting calories for my evening meal. Not a good day.

OP posts:
soulrunner · 05/10/2019 11:51

Where are you in your cycle? Could be hormonal.

FlamedToACrisp · 05/10/2019 18:44

My cycle? It's a penny-farthing. Went through the menopause many years ago.

FlamedToACrisp · 05/10/2019 22:51

DAY 34
Weight: 16st 3.5 lbs
Exercise: 6.5 hours of cleaning and decorating - reached fitbit goal! (why do I always want to call it a satnav?)
Mood: Mildly irritable - but the job's nearly finished now, thank goodness

Breakfast: none
Lunch: left my carefully-prepared lunch at home by mistake Sad so had 1 roll with cheese and marmite
Dinner: Braised lamb with new potatoes, cauliflower and carrots. And it was a bit naff so I was bad and had a massive icecream sundae afterwards.
Drinks: Diet Pepsi
Snacks: none - might eat some melon later

I need to learn to resist yummy desserts! Once again DH had arranged for us to go out to dinner with friends. And at least two more mega-calorie meals are expected, as we have a big-eater guest staying next week. I don't think he means to be a diet saboteur but it's certainly working out that way! Stern words have been had. Now I must have some more with myself Sad

DAY 34
Weight: 16st 2.5 lbs Grin yessss! At last I've lost the first stone!

Breakfast: none
Lunch: took yesterday's lunch with me but it was all soggy Sad so only ate half a cheese salad sandwich and 1 banana
Dinner: Lasagne, oven chips and salad
Drinks: Diet Pepsi
Snacks: 1 lebkuchen heart; saucer of sweeties

Definitely need to go fruit shopping tomorrow. Got home to find DH had cleaned the fridge and eaten the last of the delicious melon I was looking forward to (Angry meanie!) On the plus side I am finding it fairly easy to resist eating sweet things during the day if I keep myself busy.

OP posts:
soulrunner · 07/10/2019 10:48

Yay! Congrats!!

FlamedToACrisp · 11/10/2019 00:15

DAYS 36-39

Did you wonder where I was? My DH was rushed to hospital on Sunday night, and we've just got back.

So... no diet for a few days. I can't believe a hospital could serve such huge portions in the canteen - I ordered an omelette and chips and the serving was swimming in grease and would have easily fed two people (yes, I only ate half of it). And all the vegetables they offered were horrible, flabby and severely overcooked.

I must admit a lot of biscuits, crisps and chocolate crept in because I just couldn't be bothered to worry about calories.

But we're home.

I dread to think how much I've put on, but I've done LOADS of walking - I reached my Fitbit goal every day, and on one of the days I actually did TWICE as many steps as my target!

The truth will be revealed tomorrow Blush as I return to the path of righteousness.

I did wonder where you’d gone! Sorry to hear about your DH. Don’t worry about what you ate. Just get back on it.

Awittyusernameishardtofind · 14/10/2019 08:57

How’s your hubby op? X
