Neris and India's Idiot Proof Diet...anyone ever tried it?

Hi all

I bought this book a long time ago but not sure whether I ever properly even read it let alone tried it - has anyone else? I've just come across it in a de-clutter and wondered whether anyone has every success with it? What does it involve?

I did it successfully ages ago- it's low carb, basically modified Atkins. If you like the way they write it's quite engaging (though might be dated now!), but Biwi's LCHF threads here are probably much the same eating plan.

Thanks for your reply, it's interesting to hear you were successful. To be honest, I can't seem to find the right approach for me but I'm a big reader so on the look out for books that might get me engaged and motivated!

I had that, it was useful at the time. Especially the idea of de-carbing the recipes in normal recipe books you like.
There’s more up-to-date stuff I think!

I had that book, it’s basically low carbing but an engaging read, I lost three stones easily but can’t low carb now for various reasons.

Sounds like a few people had some success with it, well done! Has anyone else come across any other particularly engaging reads in relation to diet and weight loss?

Worked very well for me when I wanted to lose weight after my first pregnancy. Better than full-blown Atkins.

Worked really well for me too - and it's a great read. There used to be a forum for it for years but it's no longer available. It's as others say a low carb diet but their writing is so engaging that it really helps you stick to it. I would read it and follow it in conjunction with one of the low carb threads on here like BIWIs. There is also a really good cookbook that goes with it that you can get online still.

Ooh I've just downloaded it for Kindle as it seems to be the same way of eating which Our Path, who I am 2 weeks into, advocate, and I've been looking for more recipes.

I quite like the fact that they have lost weight themselves - is anyone aware of any other books written by people about their weight loss journey / experiences? I think I'd quite like to read more books like that.

Do you think they’ve stuck to it though?

Lol maybe not but I do find it quite motivating reading about other peoples experiences.

How to Lose Weight Well by Xand van Tulleken fits that bill. I didn't stick to it religiously but it has some lovely recipes and I found the writing in the first section, about examining why you want to lose weight, what you're doing it for etc, very sensitive and compassionate.
