Is this food diary bad enough to make me put on 3lb

So I’ve not been great with eating over the last few days and I’ve just weighed myself and put on 3lbs which I was quite surprised at as whilst I haven’t eaten that healthily, I don’t feel I’ve eaten loads.

I’m half convinced I’m pregnant but the tests are coming back negative so I was wondering if anyone thinks this is bad enough to make me put on weight?

Sunday - small bowel raisin wheeties, roast dinner with lamb chops, magnum ice cream

Monday - Small bowel crunchy nut, banana, apple, beans on toast with cheese & onion, chicken & mushroom pot noodle, slice of wholemeal bread with peanut butter (after my exercise class)

Tuesday - Starbucks strawberry doughnut frappachino & Blueberry muffin, home made egg mayo sandwich (with lighter than light mayo), veggie fingers, baked beans and slimming world style chips.

Just seen I’ve put bowel instead of bowl 🙈

Grin at bowel instead of bowl well I guess that's where the bran is needed.
I would say if you have been strictly dieting then have a few days off plan you will gain some water weight, the reverse of when you start a diet and lose loads in week 1 so its probably that. Have a few days back on plan and it will probably disappear again.

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 14/08/2019 08:06

There's absolutely no way of knowing how many calories you consumed without a lot more detail. The roast dinner could have been between 700 and 3000 calories.
Also, the amount of carbs you eat will be making you retain water weight. Cut them way back for a day or two, up your water and you'll probably find 2 of those pounds disappear again.

ItWentInMyEye · 14/08/2019 08:08

You're eating lots of processed stuff there, maybe try and cook from scratch more often?

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 14/08/2019 08:09

Also, the juxtaposition of a Starbucks doughnut Frappuccino and muffin alongside the clarification that you used 'lighter than light mayo' suggests you might not realise the true value of calories.

If you're trying to lose weight spend a couple of weeks tracking everything in myfitnesspal to get your head around what you're actually consuming.

YorkshireGoldFanClub · 14/08/2019 08:12

Sounds very calorie dense to me, I imagine your potions may be bigger than you think too, it’s very possible you gained the weight eating that but also your weight fluctuates and we don’t know how many calories you burned via exercise so no one can really advise you!

Holidaysmoliday · 14/08/2019 08:14

No that’s not terrible at all
Assuming from the way you have written that your portions are reasonably small as you don’t seem like a snacker or heavy eater at all. I was expecting loads of evening mars bars!

Weight fluctuates enormously. I can vary by 2-3lbs daily

Do a run of weighing yourself every day for a month and you will see how much it goes up and down- that means if you just do single weigh ins weekly you could catch yourself at any one point on the see saw

Don’t worry OP.

BuffaloCauliflower · 14/08/2019 08:16

There’s quite a lot of sugar and carbs here. The Monday and Tuesday could easily be pretty high calorie, no way to know without knowing your portion sizes. I could put weight on on this diet, but my body loves to hang on to anything.

Do you know how many calories you’re eating and how many you’re using, and your TDEE?

Ounce · 14/08/2019 08:17

Eat more veg. A lot more.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 14/08/2019 08:17

The Frappuccino, if it was small and you declined cream; was 370 calories by itself. 350 in the muffin. A few years ago I used to go and work there after work while DP was finishing up, and I put on a stone before I realised how calorific it is there Blush

Hornet7067 · 14/08/2019 08:19

Thanks everyone!

I was doing slimming world before I got married a couple of months ago and have fallen completely off the wagon. I put on half a stone in two months so whilst I haven’t gone back on plan I have started being conscious of what I eat again. I do usually cook from scratch, have a lot more fruit and veg etc. but I’ve had a couple of manic days so whilst I wasn’t expecting to lose, I definitely wasn’t expecting to put that much on!

Unlikely to be fat in a couple of days - just water retention from all those carbs.

Cary2012 · 14/08/2019 08:54

I'd gain on that because of the sugar and all those processed carbs, not necessarily the calories. My body holds onto crabs which bloat me resulting in a temporary gain, regardless of the calories. Agree that portion control is key. If you want to quickland y lose it, because it's probably water gain mostly, then ditch the processed stuff, cut out the sugar and white carbs, fill half your plate with veg or salad, the other with lean protein. Follow the basic Slimming World extra easy SP plan and it'll come off. Moving forward, eat loads more veg! Good luck.

Cary2012 · 14/08/2019 08:56

Haha! Carbs, not crabs! Grin Crabs and bowels, brilliant.

LemonRedwood · 14/08/2019 08:58

Ditch the Frappuccino and muffin and have full-fat Mayo. Fat is not the enemy, it's sugar.

Wehttam · 19/08/2019 10:45

Sugar is the devil there. Magnum ice cream and Frappuccino have essentially wiped out your good work. Slimming world creates bad habits because you don’t cut out the rubbish you tease yourself by still having it only in smaller amounts. If you have fallen off the wagon all you’ve really done is lost control of the amount of sugar and carbs you are eating. Do you drink enough water?
