A few friends have recommended it, however whenever i look at the facebook page or group it feels a bit 'culty'

Reminds me of the posts by MLM people 🙈

Does it actually work?

Yes I have signed up.

I'm only two weeks on and it's okay.

They've told me I should be on 1900 cals a day and hit certain protein and fibre targets.

I aim to hit them but don't panic if I don't. What I will say is that my desire to binge eat has totally gone.

I think the protein, fibre and decent caorie intake have helped. I am 7lbs down.

I am planning on buying some weights to do strength training as I think I will benefit from that as I'm now in my 50s.

And for £4.95 a month it's okay.

Richie makes me laugh with his videos but the moment he starts talking about going out to dinner while still hitting calories and macros I switch off. Grin
He's a real gym bod but for those of us who are not then having strict eating out rules is bonkers.
I don't eat out that often so when I do I enjoy it.

I joined but just don't get on with weighing every little bit of food. The macros drove me mad too. I like Richie and I think he's hearts in the right place, but he is somewhat over zealous. He also hates Slimming World with a passion and spends too much time slagging them off IMO.

DuckWillow · 10/08/2019 17:31

Haha....have you seen Rebelfit and SW. he makes Richie look like a shy retiring flower whispering about SW in comparison. Grin

Very true Duckwillow 😂

I joined up for a while but couldn't meet the step count and the Facebook group was really odd, obviously lots of long term members. I cancelled and they didn't even contact me to ask why, that says a lot I think

DuckWillow · 10/08/2019 21:06

Yes agree about some of the long term followers.

There’s nothing wrong in the message they give which is that generally commercial slimming groups set the calorie intake too low.

I am not and never will be a dedicated gym bunny although I don’t rule out joining a gym for the regular exercise. I can’t ever seem me being someone who works out calories and macros for eating out though.

Any questions ive asked on the page have been answered.

I’ve set my step count at 5000 as getting out is hard at the moment but aiming to get that up to 10k from September,

Me, it does work and it feels like much more food than any "diet" I've tried before which makes it way easier. It made factoring in my favourite foods and treats easy which in turn means I don't end up going mad and binging after denying myself for ages.

Best way to do it (for me) was to input everything into MFP the night before so you can tweak the amounts of your foods to hit your macros, then the next day you know the weights of each food that you need so it doesn't feel as difficult. It's also good if you're planning a higher calorie meal/treat - I put that into MFP first and then play around with my food for the rest of the day so I still stick to my goals Smile

The worst bit about it is that it's hard if you regularly go out for meals or if someone else cooks for you and you have to try and estimate weights. Some good advice that I received was to focus on one goal at a time - start out with calories, then steps, then water etc. so it's not so overwhelming when you're first getting the hang of it.

Vibiano · 12/08/2019 11:12

I have signed up but I don't really get it, haven't really tried tbh.
It's really hard putting odd amounts into mfp. Does it get easier? What do you eat?

I like the Team RH approach, the videos make me laugh and I ignore some of the more 'earnest' members. There are numerous helpful videos with exercise ideas and I feel confident in the weights section of the gym for the first time ever. The app is very helpful for keeping me focussed each day (it has had major teething troubles though) - AND it's pretty reasonably priced I would say.
