I've been dieting the past three months, and have lost a stone. Weird thing is, looking back through my happy scale app, I seem to stay the same weight (maybe going up a pound, which is gone the next day, but never losing any further weight) for 3 weeks at a time. Then the day before I come on my period, I start losing weight, and lose half a stone throughout that week. I can see this trend throughout June and July, and I've been stuck at 13st 5 for the past 3 weeks (sticking to my diet religiously, and going to the gym 3 times a week). Today, exactly 3 weeks later and due on tomorrow, I've suddenly dropped 3 pounds. It's so weird!
Feel a bit better now I've noticed this trend as I've been following the BSD principles which usually causes rapid weight loss, so get very disheartened during the 3 weeks seeing no difference on the scale. Have considered various reasons why, from eating too little and damaging my metabolism, to building muscle (joined the gym around the same time).
I've dieted on and off throughout my life and have never had this before. I've always lost weight pretty consistently and fast when I've stuck to a diet (but I also gain weight at ridiculous speed when I take my eye off the ball). I'm super motivated this time, and have completely cut out sugar and junk, am exercising regularly, watching carbs etc etc but I just don't understand why I only lose weight one week a month!
I've tried to google, and when I start writing 'only lose weight...' it comes up with a suggestion for 'only lose weight one week a month' so other people obviously have this issue, but I can't find any relevant stuff on the internet relating to it.
Has anybody else experienced this?
