Is anyone else happy not being thin but want to tone stomach? And maybe arms?

I'm not slim but am pretty happy with my size. 5 8" size 14. It's my stomach and my arms that really need toning. My legs are good as I hike. Even when young and slim, well in fact skinny, my stomach was never toned.

Has anyone found exercises that don't pull on your back? I do try to pull my stomach in when I hike and it does help a bit. My arms are going down but could do with toning.

I don't mind not being slim but toned all over would be nice.

Being toned is just simply closing the gap between your skin and your muscle i.e. Losing fat. So I'd suggest doing repetitive low weight exercises to burn the fat on a particular area of your body. So for bingo wings, you might grab a light weight, bend forward and throw your arms backwards as if you're skiing. I don't know the name of the particular exercise but you catch my drift. Just do it a lot every single day for a while. I think stomach fat generally requires dieting tbh. I think doing sit ups til your toned is a long process and quite disheartening as well as painful and time consuming.

Sianlouise432 yes you're right I probably do need to shift some fat there. I have some light weights I'll get using them on my arms.

It'll be much healthier all round if my stomach is smaller. It's the worst place health wise to store fat.

I'd love an hourglass figure but doubt it's achievable? I have a rather large toned bum that often gets compliments from women 😁
