Ellapaella · 03/08/2019 18:52

Had to share this low fat, low carb recipe with you as it's delicious. Made it tonight.
Stewing beef
Onion
Red peppers
Chilli flakes
Cumin
Garlic
One tin tomatos
Splash red wine
Salt and pepper
Oregano
Sweet potato cubed
Small amount beef stock (about 100 mls)

Basically just finely chop all veg, fry on low heat with beef. Add stock, tinned tomato, red wine and sweet potato and bring to simmer. Then out in oven proof dish, cover and cook on low heat for 4-5 hours.
Can serve with a dash creme fraiche if required. Serve with either rice or cous cous.

Thanks for that @Ellapaella. Sounds delicious. Well I had been good all day and then I had a HUGE sugar craving. So ended up going over by god knows what. First time in all these days. I didn't eat chocolate though or sweets but had some fruit and nuts but it was still feel bad for going over. I did enjoy it though!
Hope you enjoyed your wine laska! Sounds like you needed it after all the fun you have been having. Back to it tomorrow...

I will make you feel better by confessing that today I ate a dairy milk bar, 2 cookies and 2 tunnocks tea cakes. Not good. I seem to have zero will power at the moment.

neveradullmoment99 · 03/08/2019 21:56

I really wanted some chocolate. We have those buttons with hundreds and thousands on them I really want to eat them...
@Ellapaella that sounds like me. I have such a sweet tooth. I wish I could banish it forever. Im getting more and more jealous of people who have zero sweet tooth :( Actually I love kids sweets too - jelly beans, squishy things [not too fussed for haribos though] Oh and strawberry pencils. I have to literally avoid the sweet bit at home bargains cause I just want to buy it all. My worst craving was today.
I reckon its down to the sugar free ginger beer that I have had. It makes you crave sugar.
Thanks for making me feel better although you have nothing to worry about, you are lovely and slim!!

Laska2Meryls · 04/08/2019 11:26

Laska2Meryls · 05/08/2019 14:40

nice sounding recipe Ella

well I weigh a whole 1/4 pound less after the weekend.. but hey ho , its the right direction, and my tum has definitely reduced, as I can now do up my new toast skirt much easier ! so am keeping on keeping on KOKO .. So far today 2 hard boiled eggs, black coffee .. and a sliver of cheese )

We have spicy calves liver on salad this evening . I love liver but know not everyone does

I do have a trillion tomatoes to roast and make into sauce for the freezer also

neveradullmoment99 · 05/08/2019 14:57

well doing the courgette olive thing for lunch. I will keep half for tomorrow cause I am so lazy and means I just heat it up.
No idea what I weigh but my next culottes felt considerably loose and I tried on my hush bf jeans and I can now do them up!!!

neveradullmoment99 · 05/08/2019 23:19

Well it was broccoli cheese tonight with roast potatoes [not for me but the kids and dh] Just a salad for me. Think I might turn into a rabbit!!! Anway, just over the 800 mark but nothing major. Today was a good day. I didn't feel too hungry and have been able to distract myself from the sweet stuff!

Laska2Meryls · 06/08/2019 13:34

Ooh broccoli cheese and roasties ( sigh) well done for resisting..
I am definitely thinner evenif he scales say not, perhaps its moving around.. bra is better on and tum is less.
However inthe Toast paisley dress I am wearing today you cant really tell Grin
Avoided. Leaving cakes today at work, so far 2eggs and 1 slice Brunswick ham ( usual breakfast. 1 fresh fig ( off our own tree) and some strawberries.. Dont know what's for dinner, DH is fixing it.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/08/2019 13:41

oh I had the broccoli cheese but not the roasties. Small portion with salad. I think I made a mistake at lunch time and ate too much of the courgette olive bake but oh well. So had a yoghurt and grapes mixed in for bf. For lunch a half portion of courgette bake and salad and bean chilli for dinner.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/08/2019 13:42

The toast paisley dress is not the kind of dress you would feel wait loss in :)

Ooh the thread is doing well my friends! I’m marking space so I can post my lentil recipes. I’m glad to tell you today I weighed in at 63.8kg which is my 10 stone target 🙌
I want to get to 63kg to give myself a bit of leeway but still very happy I’ve lost over a stone. Even if I don’t lose anymore it’ll be a challenge maintaining so I Hope you’ll keep me focused with the diet chat

Laska2Meryls · 06/08/2019 19:43

Dh made the Fast 800 sesame salmon broccoli and tomato bake for dinner, I can thoroughly recommend it.. Le yum

Well done Soy!! ..sadly I am still 12st Sad but that's less than i was !

neveradullmoment99 · 06/08/2019 19:54

Well done @soyo...impressive. Its always a good idea to give yourself a bit of leeway.
@Laska..we will get there!!!
Fast 800 bean chilli. Yummy. I had it with salad. All my others had it with rice! Closing the kitchen on 822 calories once i have had my coffee :)
You know its a bit disheartening that age plays such a huge role in weight loss. If i was in my twenties and eating 800 for two weeks i would be a stick by now. Its really a pisser!

Anthorn · 06/08/2019 19:56

@laska I made the same for dinner tonight too. It was gorgeous

neveradullmoment99 · 06/08/2019 19:57

Anway, tried on a few things today to check my progress. All are looser. I bought a couple of things in cornwall. A fat face tee and a skirt and vest from laura ashley. They are all looser. They look better on. The biggest thing was a seasalt green linen tunic that i bought in the sale in truro. It was so tight and now fits me well. So i am pleased with that but definitely not ready to stop. I may weigh myself if i feel brave...or maybe not...coward that i am!

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 06/08/2019 19:58

sadly @Laska and @Anthorn, i really dont like salmon. I wish i did sometimes...

SoyYo · 06/08/2019 19:58

So to give an example of a lentil (vegan) recipe. This is what I’m making tonight: lentil and bean chilli
Basically chop an onion/red/pepper/a Garlic clove/mushrooms.
Sauté in a tablespoon of olive oil in a fairly deep pan.
Meanwhile grab a cup of whole lentils and rinse in a sieve, also a Tin of Red Kidney beans and chick peas drained. And have a carton of passata nearby.
Once onion is soft add a tablespoon of powder cumin to the mix and a teaspoon of hot chilli powder (more if you like your food with a good spicy bite). Stir in the spices for a couple of minutes, gently soaking the veg in it.
Then chuck the lentils/chick peas and kidney beans to the mix, stir for a bit longer.
Now add the passata and fill the passata carton again with water (or you could use a knorr veggie stock cube for more flavour). Chuck it in the pan. Stir and mix and bring to the boil briefly.
Add a pinch of mixed herbs and a bit of salt to taste.
Put the lid on and simmer gently for at least 45 minutes. Check the liquid levels as the whole lentils swell and absorb liquid, maybe after 30 minutes check and add water if the liquid is all gone and the chilli mix is looking dry.
After 45 mins you can eat. If you want to keep it simmering for an hour that’s fine but check the water levels. It should have a nice thick sauce, not too runny not too thick.
Serve in bowls with a few tortilla chips or if you’re being super strict with 3 Ryvitas (crunchy and low cal/carb). If you have fresh coriander to hand it’s nice to sprinkle some on top too.

For variations on above chilli lentil recipe you could use medium curry powder instead, then presto! Lentil curry, you could add sweet potato or carrots instead of more chick peas or beans. You can also make the same but more of a mild comfort winter stew by using vegetable stock instead of passata for the sauce and adding rosemary/herbs/salt and pepper. Add frozen peas instead of beans.

Endless variations and pulses in moderation are allowed in the 800 fast diet. You could even add some chopped chorizo to make it more Spanish style and chuck in Spanish paprika to the lentil herbs.
Serve it with cauliflower rice or brown rice (small portion).

While brown lentils are best but French pouy Black lentils work okay too. Do not use the orange split lentils for soup as they will lack bite.

Finally, above makes 4 good sized portions. It’s fine to reheat a bowl in microwave the day after as a second healthy meal. It’s allowed and we’ve carried on losing weight eating a lentil based meal like the ones I’ve described above and it really helps with the carb cravings Smile
