Losing weight for the new term (sept)

MrsMaudwatts · 09/07/2019 12:17

It's approx 9 weeks until the new school term starts (I know, we haven't even broken up yet... but September always feels like a lovely new start to me, and I've missed the summer body boat). I want to lose weight and drag myself to the gym a bit more so I start September feeling good about myself. Had lost quite a lot if weight but 2 stone has crept back on out of literally nowhere 😳

Anyone else in? Not sure how much I can lose in this time, a stone maybe? That's my goal. And then I want to keep going to Christmas, and finally hit my big goal, which I haven't achieved in 20 years 😱 (I was this weight once though, i still have the boots weighing scale receipt to prove it 😂).

I'm going to weigh daily, and log it here. Following Fast800 food-wise. Not too worried about the fast element yet, just want to get myself sticking to the 800 cal, low carb meals (experimented with some meals ideas last week). I could easily gain another stone over the holidays with lack of routine etc so I have to get in top of it now really.

9 week goal for Sept: 11.12
October half term goal: 11.4
Christmas goal: 10.4 🤞

START
9/7/19 - 12.12

I will join you!

I have 5 stone of "babyweight" to shift - baby starts reception in September!

I have lost a stone in the last month by calorie counting 1500 cals a day using my fitness pal, and staying away from sweets, chocolate and cake. I am now 16st 7lb, would like to shift a further 2 stone over the next 9 weeks which would get me back into my size 18 clothes for the first day of school.

I am determined to get back to a healthy BMI over the next year, and get back to being me again

Mrspeak · 09/07/2019 15:08

I'll join please!

Would love to lose some more (or most of what's left ideally!) of my baby weight before ttc again in November.

Starting weight: 13 4
September goal: 12 10
November goal: 11 13

Just started WW again yesterday using the app as have found it useful before. I run twice a week anyway but trying to get some HIIT sessions in too as well as some cycling.

Hi change & mrsP

Well my dinner was a disaster! I went to the gym (faster over lunch) so I was starving. Bought some nice wild salmon, loosley followed a recipe and it was awful, bland yuk. Put me in a bit of a mood so I'm having a bath and an early night to avoid the biscuit tin.

Annoyingly I've made 3 portions of the salmon disaster ... 🤮

Hope you get off to a better start!

That's the worst @MrsM. Sounded like it was going to be great so even more of a disappointment! I'd throw it away and try to forget about it quickly!

My day 2 was good. Felt very motivated and didn't snack anywhere as much as I normally would. Tonight we've got a rare opportunity to get out for dinner as a couple so I'm going for fruit and yoghurt for breakfast and chicken and veg for lunch to try and keep some points for dinner tonight! About to go for a run too although don't feel like it at all!

Hope you both have good days!

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 10/07/2019 08:07

I would like to be if that's ok. I have lost 2 stone in the last year, only about 10lb to go but have been maintaining brilliantly (aka dieting unsuccessfully!) for a few months now.

Summer is tricky for me as I don't work and am bad at snacking/lack of routine.

Current weight: 10 st 2
Sept goal: 9 st 7 - though tbh I'd settle for any weight loss at all!

I run a lot, and calorie count. I also am trying to subscribe more to the 'best quality food in sensible portions' school of thought.

Have a good day everyone.

I love this idea-I’m a teacher and think in terms of terms.

I’ve had a really stressful year and essentially stopped eating properly and and exercising. Those things need to start again!

I’m just doing an emphasis on eating at least five a day, measured carbs and lots of exercise.

MrsMaudwatts · 10/07/2019 11:13

Welcome @purple and @Thebitch* I'm trying to be better with veg and just better quality of food too. My diet has been shocking for quite a while. and *@Thebitch** maintaining is bloody good!! I was aiming to keep losing but somehow kept gaining, so well done for at least maintaing! Think of where you could be had you gained instead.... Maintenance (planned or otherwise) is my fkn nemesis.

Hope everyone has a good day. I had the best sleep ever so I'm feeling really good and motivated today.

Had a high protein yoghurt with inulin for fibre and some seeds for breakfast. And coffee obvs.

Lunch is hummous, celery and radishes. Odd combo but I was flying out the door so just grabbed random stuff!

Dinner will either be the evil salmon. Or ratatouille and chicken sausages. Maybe the dog will get the salmon....

Gym session planned and remembered my vitamins, probiotics, fish oils etc. .I'm rattling. just need to chug some water and maybe squeeze in a green tea so I feel extra virtuous!

Enjoy your night out @mrsP!

I hope you had a good night out @Mrspeak

@MrsMaudwatts your lunch sounds like the sort of thing I would grab. I've been a bit off proper meals lately - more likely to eat a HUGE bag of crisps or a bowl of cereal. Trying to kick that habit and eat more fruit and veg.

I've got on the scales and lost 2lb this week, which I am made up about. Myfitnesspal tell me the last time I was in the 9 stones was 31 August 2015! And I am dead on 10 stone today 👊

Soup and fruit planned for lunch, huge latte for breakfast. We have relatives coming who eat very light, for the weekend, so it should be easy, right?

Have a good day everyone Smile

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 11/07/2019 06:51

Oh, I forgot to say - you are totally right about the maintaining thing. I am trying to reframe it as success - I recognise that it absolutely is, as I am a classic yo-yoer - but a lifetime of conditioning takes work to undo...

Mrspeak · 11/07/2019 08:47

Completely agree, maintaining is great. I seem to put on the second I stop trying to lose!

Well done @TheBitch, 2lbs is brilliant!

Really enjoyed our meal out thanks but feeling the bloating aftereffects today! Family member staying offered to get a takeaway for us tonight and was thinking of what I could get that wasn't too bad but have turned down the offer now, need to pull it back after yesterday!

Need to find some fruit before work this morning and then have got a slimwell meal with me for lunch. Big challenge for me is not grazing on the team snacks when in the office!

MrsMaudwatts · 11/07/2019 13:03

I cannot turn down an offer of food. That's a big downfall, so well done *@mrspeak for turning down a takeaway!

Well done on your 2lb loss *@TheBitchOfTheVicar

I've had my usual.yoghurt breakfast and a gallon of coffee.

Slightly odd lunch again -celery with hummous and guacamole. I'd sort of forgotten about celery - I just remember my mum eating in on ww in the 80's! Piled high with dip, it does t really taste of anything, and other veg can add up quite quickly in carbs so I think I'll be eating a lot of it over the holidays. And it doesn't need prepping (I'm super lazy!).

OP posts:
MrsMaudwatts · 11/07/2019 13:07

Yes! Office snacks! Our office looks like a full on all-you-can-eat buffet some weeks. I have such a hard time side stepping it. Esp.if it's homemade. At least I wont have to contend with that over the summer. Have started only ever buying mint ice team.for the DC's as I love icecream but hate anything mint flavoured. Im making do with cold diet coke instead. I aren't body weight in almond magnums last summer.

MrsMaudwatts · 11/07/2019 13:12

Dinner will be the vile salmon. I can't bare to waste it 🤮🤔. I'm going to try and improve it....

Freezer is now full of low cal, low carb meals after a mammoth food prepping session last night, so I literally have no excuses.

My weigh day today and I'm down 1lb. Pretty pleased as we had visitors this weekend and although I tried to make healthier choices than I normally would, I still had some treats.

How's everyone else doing?

changedtempforprivacy · 19/07/2019 08:32

How are we all getting on? My colleague noticed I'd lost weight which was nice, my own scales are rather unreliable so prefer the ones at the pool so can't update on weight loss progress but feeling determined! Using the step counter on my phone is motivating too..I know weight loss is 80% diet but I am so.looking forward to being lighter on my feet and less tired after a long walk..

MercuryRising · 21/07/2019 09:02

Hi I know I'm a bit late to the party but can I join to. I'm a teacher who returns to work from mat leave in September. I have lost my baby weight but ideally would like to lose another 22 pounds. My current weight is 12.11. I would love to be 12 stone by the time I return to work. I have an addiction to biscuits and sugar which has meant despite taking up running 12 weeks ago from doing no exercise I haven't even lost an ounce!

My plan is no biscuits or sweets for the holidays, walk 10,000 steps a day and run twice a week. Fingers crossed I can stick to it!

Mrspeak · 05/08/2019 16:32

Anyone else still going?

I started 13 4 and now 12 12 so September goal still 12 10 and should be able to do it.

Having some days a lot more motivated than others but slowly getting there
