Hi all,

Just wanted to get a sense check of how ‘healthily’ I’m eating so asking you to give me the brutal truth! I’m trying to eat a healthy amount to lose weight steadily but consistently. Just to caveat, I’m dairy intolerant so have to avoid quite a few foods.

Thanks in advance Flowers and please be brutal!

Breakfast:
2 pieces mango, handful blueberries, small handful raspberries.
2 cups of tea with small amount hazelnut milk

Lunch:
1 chicken breast
50g brown rice
4 pieces broccoli

Dinner:
1 chicken breast with tomato/onion/garlic sauce
100g diced potatoes with table spoon of olive oil
Salad leaves (no dressing just balsamic)

Snacks:
1 piece Turkish delight (bite size)
2 tangerines
1/4 pack beef biltong

@RoseMartha I could eat it with nut milk or oat milk...I just don’t enjoy it without sugar/golden syrup (terrible I know)

@summerflab I’m quite short - 5 foot 2 and normally eat a very low carb diet but pregnancy has made me a carb monster so I’m trying to make it as balanced as I possibly can

Aberforthsgoat · 10/06/2019 21:27

What about honey @summerflab?
I love porridge with nut butter and honey - almond butter is delicious and gives it a bit of sweetness - also really fills you up

TheLoneWolfDies · 10/06/2019 21:29

Your height actually influences how much you can eat by quite a lot, something I was very shocked by! I'm 5'8 and moderatly active and as far as I can remember, to maintain my weight I have to eat 2200 calories. Although I'm eating quite a bit less than that atm as I'm trying to lose baby weight😭

I think I'd die if I ate 1200 calories a day tho!

YesQueen · 10/06/2019 21:32

@Summerflab oatly barista is THE best oat milk ever. I'm not ever dairy free and I love it!
Also good for a change is the (I think) blue diamond chocolate almond milk, you can heat it up and have it with porridge oats or it's low cal to have as a hot drink
I would up the veg - roasted med veg, roasted kale, carrots, corn on the cob. Think bulky low cal to fill you up
Soup is great too, cully and sully chicken soup (tesco) I'm not sure if dairy free but it's lovely and low cal

Summerflab · 10/06/2019 21:34

@Aberforthsgoat good idea- I might do that- I also love almond butter and the honey would help sweetness.

@TheLoneWolfDies wow- height makes such a difference, very jealous! I’m 5ft4 so not short short but not tall enough to eat lots and lose weight.

@YesQueen I like the sound of the chocolate almond milk...which supermarket sells it?

joystir your diet sounds worrying - Watermelon is not the greatest food to eat at night and that amount is very high sugar for very little reward - you need to add something in

OP I would add in some porridge oats for your breakfast and some more vegetables

YesQueen · 10/06/2019 21:40

@Summerflab I've got it from Tesco and morrisons before

Summerflab · 10/06/2019 21:42

I need a Tesco trip for the milk and cinnamon bagels now 😬

Boring!

I've had omelette for breakfast, apple for snack, homemade scotch egg and salad for lunch, AWESOME pasta bake for dinner.

All SW friendly: 5 syns

Summerflab · 10/06/2019 21:54

@PavlovaFaith...any chance you can give me the scotch egg recipe?! I love them but didn’t realise they could be made at home healthily...

I’ve woken up really wanting those cinnamon bagels - I’m going to be gutted if my local Tesco doesn’t have them Grin

Sparklingfairylights · 11/06/2019 06:31

Joystir I had to read yours twice, so little food and I say that as someone with a very small appetite.

Autumnchill · 11/06/2019 06:56

Bagel for breakfast 😁

PavlovaFaith · 11/06/2019 22:48

I boiled 6 eggs and peeled shells
Blitzed 2 whole meal pittas to make breadcrumbs

In a bowl I mixed:
5% pork mince
2 cloves garlic
Fresh chives
Fresh sage
1tsp crushed fennel seeds
Salt
Pepper
Beaten egg
A couple of spoons of breadcrumbs

Coat the mince mixture around the eggs
Beat another egg and dip the meat covered eggs to coat and roll in the pitta crumbs.
Bake at 200 for about 30 mins turning half way. I sprayed them with some rapeseed oil.

Summerflab · 12/06/2019 07:40

Thank you @PavlovaFaith these sound delicious- going to make them at weekend when I have more time 😊

So far today I’ve eaten one of those raisin and cinnamon bagel thins with nut butter. I blame this thread for the fact I am newly addicted to them!

Autumnchill · 12/06/2019 09:18

😁 🥯
