Is there already one of these on the go? If so, apologies for duplicating! I had a quick search, but couldn't see a recent one.

I am planning to start tomorrow. I actually need to lose weight now, having been a healthy weight, but just a bit heavier than I'd like. Now I am officially in need of weight loss!

But, I have a terrible relationship with food. I really don't want to go on a diet which I can fall off the wagon with. This seems like a good, moderate way to eat, which will fit in well with feeding my family too and hopefully help me with my slightly weird eating habits and attitude to food.

If anyone would like to join me, it would be fab to have some company.

Rules are:

No Snacks
No Seconds (so all food for one meal on one plate)
No Sweets

Except on days beginning with S; Saturdays, Sundays and Special Days, (birthdays in your immediate family, weddings etc and holidays which apply to your culture. So for me, Christmas and Easter would be the main two).

Apparently it works! Fingers crossed at least.

How much weight do you need to drop?

Clubbercised · 02/06/2019 21:08

I could really do with losing a few stone tbh! Horrified at writing that. But that's to get back to my "favourite" weight. To just get to a healthy BMI, I need to lose a little over a stone.

I'm trying not to get too wrapped up in the numbers though, as I don't want to end up losing and gaining, losing and gaining all my life.

I'm in my mid thirties now and I've been everything from overweight bordering obese and a healthy weight bordering underweight over the years and I seem to go from one extreme to the other, feeling miserable when I gain weight.

I really want to make a positive and permanent change, so I can just be a bit more rational around food, without going to either extreme. So no quick fixes.

Morning!

So, I'm weighing in this morning. The No S book says to weigh once a week.

Today I'm 12 stone 12 and 3/4 of a lb. A bit specific, but that's what the scales said twice! I'm 5'8", so that makes me around 17lbs over the healthy BMI range. Aiming to get back to healthy. Anything else would be a bonus too.

Starting the day with a more substantial breakfast than usual. Scrambled eggs on toast with avocado and maybe some smoked salmon (if DC1 doesn't eat it all).

All the best today BerkeleySquare.

Hi @Clubbercised, are you still no s-ing? Mind if I join?

sadiejadie · 20/06/2019 08:48

Hi, I will join too. I really need to sort my self out. I actually started yesterday and my weight was 10st 12.

Beingnicetomyself · 21/06/2019 06:54

Hi Sadie! Really glad someone else has joined Smile.

I'm not sure of my weight tbh and don't really want to weigh myself. I had a miscarriage last week and along with all the other awfulness that's come along with it I've also been left with a big band of pregnancy weight around my middle.. really don't want to keep wearing my maternity trousers for obvious reasons so need to get rid of it.

Yesterday was going great until late in the evening when I got quite upset and broke all the no s rules with a load of liquorice allsorts Hmm. Onwards and upwards today.. it's my mum's birthday so officially an S day but other than her birthday cake I'm going to try to be good, as staying fat is only making me more miserable.

I find it quite helpful to post my days food intake in the evening - I hope that's not too annoying?!

Good luck today!
