Anyone used Easy way to give up sugar?

The time has come for me to stop eating sugar - I'm literally craving then bingeing on biscuits and chocolate and sweets. And I don't feel good about myself when I eat them and feel worse afterwards.

I used the Allen Carr method to give up smoking nearly 15 years ago and haven't craved never mind smoked a cigarette since. So I bought the sugar book and I've almost finished reading it, I just need to get myself over the line.

Has anyone else given up sugar? I think I'm looking for some "of course you'll be fine!" Type experiences WinkGrin

I'm on week 3, so not mega experienced. You might feel a bit rough during withdrawal. I've given up flour and potatoes as well. Drink plenty and stash babybels or nuts or something for if you need something. I seemed to live on eggs, be cleverer than me and mix it up a bit!

Well done Love51 on 3 weeks in - I'm looking forward to being in the same place!

I think my problem is the mindless snacking in sugarsugarsugar so i would rather not snack at all but I've got fruit today in work and will just carry on drinking water and coffee excessively

I'm on day 4. First day at home with a child and I went to the supermarket. Going ok so far.

I'm on week 3 now and doing ok.

I have eaten 2 slices of birthday cake (daughter's birthday, I made the cake) but it felt too sweet. A plate of pancakes in a cafe and a plain scone.

I don't have any mad cravings for sugar and have been able to limit the food to what I ate rather than it being a gateway for a binge.

Will keep going!

Another week. I've got my period and ate 2 marshmallows yesterday. Too sweet.

I need to get a handle on emotional eating now, I had a tough day yesterday and caught myself eating pretzel crisps out of frustration not hunger.

But still going ok.
