So much weight to lose!

I’m 4-5 stone overweight and desperate to begin trying for baby number 2.
Today I’ve eaten some Fage 0% yogurt with berries for breakfast, a meal reaplcament shake (Cambridge) for lunch with a banana, also had 2 coffees which I know isn’t great but I have been up all night with DD so knackered! We went on a long walk round the park earlier though so hoping that might have burnt a few calories!
I feel ok, but I’m stressing because I’ve got so much weight to lose and I’m getting older, I don’t have forever to lose the weight and conceive.
Has anyone been in the same boat and got any motivational words of wisdom?! Thanks! xx

Yes, in as far as that I had 4 stone to lose at the start of the year. I have now lost more than half of that and more than 10% of my body weight through a sensible diet (1400 kcal/ day) and exercise (mainly walking, nothing too strenuous).

My top tip is to try not to get too overwhelmed by the total weight you need to lose, but break it up into smaller, more manageable goals. The only difference between losing a few pounds, or a few stone is the length of time you need to stick to a sensible eating plan. Everything else is pretty much the same

And the good thing about weightloss is that you don’t actually have to hit your ideal weight before you start feeling like you have a lot more energy. Things get a lot easier once you’ve lost your first half a stone or so as you start to feel (and see!) the difference it makes

So, you can totally do this. Just take it one step at a time. If you haven’t found it already, there’s a “losing half a stone in May” thread on this board. You may be interested in joining that? Half a stone a month is a pretty good goal and having the support of others can make all the difference.

Good luck!

OP, I have even more weight to shift than you. I started 9 weeks on a calorie controlled diet. I've lost 21 pounds just by reducing my calories and doing more exercise.

You can do it!

Thankyou both for your replies! Well done on your weight loss! Just by not eating bread for a couple of days I feel much less bloated & my jeans fit better.
