NOT PREGNANT!! Just in case anyone is wondering just know I have gained so much weight in the past two months due to serious stress eating.
I'm gonna guess I've put on about two stone and it's all hanging off my stomach.
Three people this past week have asked me if I'm pregnant and I spent a recent family event crying in the toilet after I saw a picture of myself.
Have looked up my local slimming world and there's one local tomorrow evening so hoping to go along.
Guess I just posted because I needed the rant and a hand hold or maybe some words of motivation!!

I can't offer you any words of wisdom as I'm trying to kick myself up the arse to try and become healthy. I drank my own body weight in wine yesterday and ate 6 Creme Eggs today.
You're taking a step in the right direction by joining SW so there's a positive. I went to SW last year and really enjoyed it.
And as for folk asking if you're pregnant, well they're rude bastards, aren't they?
Told you I couldn't offer any words of wisdom but I wish you good luck!

I had this last year. Conversation went like this:

HER (very chipper): You're having a baby!
ME (40s with fertility issues): Actually no, I'm not.
HER (mortified): Shock Blush

I then spent ages trying to put HER at ease because she's a client and I needed her business. It's not malicious to assume someone is pregnant, but it's thoughtless and inconsiderate. It ruined a new dress for me which I'd previously loved wearing. Still have it but I wouldn't dare wear it again before losing significant weight.

Anyway, I don't know if this helps, but good luck with SW, OP!

I don’t have any words of wisdom about losing weight. I have just been doing counting calories. Is working well. But I had to just say sorry that someone said that to you. Please try and forget what they said. People say things without thinking xxxx

I DO have a few easy and brilliant belly busting exes. if you're interested? They work if you do them 3 times in am and 3 times pm!

Also have a look at Paul Mackenna (I Can Make You Thin) I wanted to be slim (I lost 3 stone) Not thin and it worked for me I still do it off and on!!

It's good because its about HOW you eat WHERE and WHEN you eat rather than WHAT you eat, though healthily is always better of course! You never starve on it either!

RosinaAlmaviva · 26/04/2019 11:28

Definitely would like to hear about the exercises ppeatfruit!

I will check out the Paul Mackenna.

Okay Rosina Grin

  1. Lie flat on a firm mat or mattress, on your back, hands by your sides
. 2.To the count of 6 seconds raise your shoulders SLOWLY for 6 cms or inches ,keeping your head in line with your spine (don't poke it forward or leave it behind!)
  1. Hold it for the count of 6. Then slowly release also to the count of 6.

I do this morning and evening. You can increase the difficulty by raising your legs against a wall and or raising your arm to the side of your head.

ppeatfruit · 26/04/2019 11:48

Another good one is to literally walk about on your tiptoes, pulling in your stomach muscles, I do plies with legs facing front, holding on and sometimes on tiptoes as well. ( That's not very easy but you build up to it by starting slowly).

Another one is on your back in bed press gently on your solar plexus and take both your bent legs to the left , but turn your head to the right, do it slowly really pressing your ear to the bed. on each side.

Thank you! I think I've done similar in Pilates classes but can never remember exactly what we do. Smile

ppeatfruit · 26/04/2019 13:33

Oh good you're not a beginner! Pilates is one of my favourite classes. ( I used to teach keep fit) and I still keep it up at home. Also I just remembered I like doing about 20 mins dancing\ and or gardening before breakfast, that really works for weight loss too.

RosinaAlmaviva · 28/04/2019 22:13

I'm kind of a serial beginner with Pilates...I go along for a few classes, then get distracted and let it drop! Determined to go back and stick to it long enough to see results this year. Smile

I remembered another way of slimming down one's stomach. Avocadoes are terrible for blowing me out and houmous does the same.

I don't eat protein and carbs at the same meal. Or fruit AFTER a meal. it's fine on an empty stomach though. I have it for breakfast.
