Always exhausted

I started to lose weight 2 months ago, eating a lot healthier (not perfect but so much better than what and how much I used to eat) I’m also exercising regularly and I am losing weight (yay!) but despite all this I am still exhausted all the time. As in, I could nap every afternoon and still sleep at night.

When does it get better? I really thought the healthier eating and exercise would improve my tiredness, but it’s not working (yet).

I am not starving myself, usually average about 1500 ish calories, so it’s not because I’m not eating enough.

Hi Books - how much do you weigh now and need to lose? For example, I have 3 stone to lose but find DP (who is 22 stone and needs to lose around 8!) gets much more tired than me with exercise, I assume because there's more of him to carry around.

Any chance you could have an underlying health condition such as anaemia/ thyroid problems? Those would make you tired too - I take Feroglobin and find that helps, as I have low iron reserve.

Or could you be overdoing it a bit if you've suddenly started exercising a lot more and eating less?

Either way, well done on your weight loss so far, and good luck for the rest of your journey!

I've lost about a stone and need to lose another 2 or 3 stones but don't feel particularly during/after exercise, but come the afternoon and I'm fighting to stay awake.

Are you drinking enough and are you planning your meals spread throughout the day? Do you eat calories from the right foods? If you're eating 1500 calories but from bread and chocolate it's going to make your body work harder than if you're filling up on vegetables.

I Had the same thing lost few stone exercised but felt so tired all the time even after a nap I'll take up tired, so I bought iron supplement called spatone from Holland and Barrett it's in a liquid formula u take with orange juice.... helped so much....maybe give it a go..if not see our docs just to rule anything else out xSmile

Have you tried iron supplements? (Spatone is OK but if you need something stronger, try Floradix or Ferroglobin liquid iron) Also try a Vit D spray like DLux, though now the weathe ris fine, if you are out in the sun a lot it shouldn't be so necessary. Are you drinking enough water and getting enough salt?

I’ve been upping my veg intake, and cutting down on bread, so I think my diet is healthier than it was.
Maybe I’m still not drinking enough. I do try, but often forget.

I haven’t taken any supplements yet, so will give that a go.
