What would be a reasonable goal?

Hi, I’m trying to get healthier and loose some weight in the process. I’m currently 11 stone and am 5ft 8. I’m wondering what would be a reasonable goal for monthly weight loss?
I plan to use the scales only once a month as I do have a distant history of taking dieting a bit to far. I’m hoping to focus more on feeling healthier and looking a bit less lumpy in my clothes.
Anybody able to help me figure out what I should be doing and aiming for?

Hello OP. I'm no expert, but I'm doing the No S Diet for slow but sustainable loss.
It's sensible eating with a view to losing one or two pounds per week.
I only have a stone to lose, and am just as concerned about putting the weight back on as losing it in the first place.

I think about 5lbs would be reasonable as you don't have a lot to lose.

I’ll look into the no S diet I’ve never heard of it. Sustainable is what I’m after, I’ve put on 2 stone in 12 months due to various factors including awful eating habits and I just want to feel a bit healthier and happier with how I look.

No S Diet link.
Refreshingly simple and free, you don't need to buy the book, everything you need is on the website.

I'd say two pounds a week is fair.

I have lost twenty pounds since December, and agree 5lbs a month is about right (for me).
Depends on a lot of factors - including age. 2lbs a week is at the top end of wHat you should be losing, and while I would love to be able to lose that amount of weight in a week, it’s just not possible anymore for me.
I have another twenty pounds to go, and hope to reach my goal sometime in the summer.

ALSO, you are aready healthy weight for your height, so weight loss will be slower than for people, on the overweight and obese categories.

Thanks for the replies, I’ve looked into the no S diet and I think it’d be a good plan. I’m not wanting to loose large amounts of weight but if I carry on eating like I am I soon will be overweight for my height. I am a complete sugar fiend so I think so no sweets/seconds on weekdays is a good place to start.
