I made it through a whole day without eating any crap!!!!!!!!!!

LoveMyGirls · 13/08/2007 21:09

Didnt manage the trampoline though and im too tired now plus the kids broke the netting today so need to fix it!

Elphi · 16/08/2007 19:20

Hi,
I am new to mumsnet and in desperate need of losing weight. Can I join you please? Have been trying for a few weeks now and have lost 11 pounds but still weigh 14.5 .
Please don't do the sums and work out how much I weighed before!
I'm afraid that I am a yo-yo dieter and tend to starve the weight off. Too impatient to wait for it to come off sensibly. Anyone else like me?

lillypie · 16/08/2007 19:28

Hi Elphi I'm impatient too but I'm determined to do it right this time.Set small achievable goals to boost your confidence and get plenty of exercise. At least that's what I'm trying to do.Welcome

Ceebee74 · 16/08/2007 19:31

Welcome Elphi - of course you can join us.

Had a bad week this week as we went away for a few days at the beginning of the week and ate loads.

Plus tonight is our wedding anniversary so DH had bought a very naughty (but incredibly yummy) tea from M&S and a bottle of wine.

Will focus again tomorrow though.

Big congratulations to all those who have lost weight. LEts keep going ladies.

Hi all, can I join please?? I am 13st 7 and need to lose at least 3 stone, and I seem to just lose and regain the same half stone over and over!! I'm so depressed about myself....

lillypie · 18/08/2007 09:53

Hi Kate,of course you can join,we're all trying to do the same thing here. There are good days and bad days for all of us,the key things are don't give up or beat yourself up.
Wish me luck I'm off to the gym to be weighed
and measured

Elphi · 18/08/2007 12:48

Trouble is I just HATE the exercise. I am one of those people who turns into a beetroot after about 10 seconds and look and feel revolting. Once I get a bit less blobby I can swim but at the moment I just dare not be seen in a cossie.

fedda · 20/08/2007 21:59

Hi, how are you all? any success?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 20/08/2007 22:27

Hi everyone
Can I also add that I too want to get rid of some weight.I am stuggling with the baby belly
dh keeps tellling me to give myself a break as only had dd 6months ago.(but I dont find that encouraging it just makes me lazy IYKWIM)I currently weigh 10st 101b,even though I AM 21b lighter than pre pregnancy I desperate to to keep going, I have no excuse for not going to the gym as we converted our garage so not far to go. I find it extremely hard to motivate myself once dd is in bed.so I recently started pole dancing fitness classes. Its the best form of exercise I have ever done and probably the only one I have been so exited to turn up for. Although its quite difficult to begin with and I was in so much pain for a whole week, it is definately worth it, because its so much fun you dont feel like your exercising at all.So sorry for babbling on, WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SAY THE SUPPORT ON HERE IS AMAZING.

lillypie · 21/08/2007 12:21

LOL I'm much too big to go pole dancing I'm sure It's fun though maybe when I've lost a stone or three!!!!

I'm not going to be weighed and measured 'till Friday now but I'm doing well with both my eating and my exercise so hopefully I'll have a good result.

Welcome no1putsbabyinthecorner

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 21/08/2007 14:06

lillypie the good thing about pole dancing is its great for any shape or size. I had to try and block out the images of scantily clad so called perfect bodys of professional pole dancers because I found it intimidating and daunting. There are all shapes and sizes at the classes. Check out you tube for pole dancing class videos to see the (not stick insect girls doing it) they are fantastic and a great inspiration. It is very difficult though as you are lifting your own bodyweight but it can be done.

Guitargirl · 21/08/2007 15:15

Hi everyone!

Have had some success in that have lost 3 pounds this week which means 5 pounds in total - hurray!

Still don't think am going to fit into my work clothes in time but at least it's going in the right direction and am now under 13 stone which has an added psychological bonus !

Hope everyone else is doing ok! This weather doesn't help does it - just makes me want to eat! Plus I made lemon drizzle cake this week which have been dipping into [sigh]...

lillypie · 21/08/2007 16:13

I will check out the pole dancing but I don't think I'll be trying it any time soon

Well done Guitargirl, you're heading in the right direction!!!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 22/08/2007 10:06

mmmm... lemon drizzle cake
I so tempted to bake this week too. Well done with the weight loss though, I know what you mean about the weather. It is very windy today and the dog is staring at me wondering when we are going to venture out.

lillypie · 22/08/2007 10:31

No baking here, I'm back to my fat myself!

MadLabOwner · 22/08/2007 21:13

Ooh guitargirl, under 13 stone, congratulations! Can't remember what that feels like TBH, are your clothes fitting better?

Have made enormous batches of the best chocolate cake in the world this week, but have then been very disciplined and taken them as gifts when visiting (non dieting) friends. Poor DH asked where all the cake was today, and his face fell when he realised I'd shipped them all out, out of my reach!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 22/08/2007 21:30

Thats amazing self control with the chocolate cake. My sister keeps making the most amazing carrot cake (possibly on purpose as she knows I can not say no to that) So I ask kids to tell me when there making it and I avoid visiting for few days. Ok for her, had 3 kids, a size 6!!!!{envy] and legs up to her chin.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 22/08/2007 21:30

sorry

Theclosetpagan · 22/08/2007 21:40

Have now lost 11lbs on SlimFast BUT have never been so constipated in my life - had to take a laxative yesterday - I NEVER need those - it's the first time I've ever bought any. So - a non Slimfast day today and masses of fruit.

MadLabOwner · 22/08/2007 21:40

Funny about sisters, they can be the source of the most amazing spikes of envy at times! Mine spent most of her life at least 2 sizes bigger than me, positions are now reversed and I find it difficult to deal with sometimes.....

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 22/08/2007 21:50

Yes, don't get me wrong a adore her and we are very close, but sometimes I find her insensitive. She rang me the other day nearly in tears because she had discovered a bit of cellulite and her bum had gone a bit saggy(she is a huge drama queen btw) and tries to pinch an inch of skin and says she is fat.I do tell her she is being insensitive and she knows I feel very unhappy about my post pregnancy belly. So I tell her its her two packets of crisps and chocolate bar of an evening thats catching up with her

Guitargirl · 23/08/2007 15:20

MadLabOwner - re the clothes, not really no! My maternity clothes are pretty big on me now - not before time !

But all my pre-pregnancy clothes are still too tight. So, at the moment it's a choice between shuffling about in clown trousers and keeping them held up with one hand when I run for the bus (my, what an attractive image I have just painted there!) or SQUEEZING into pre-pregnancy jeans or trousers and then I literally can't run anywhere without keeling over...ho hum..
