I'm 4 months pp and couldn't be happier except for my weight. I'm an emotional eater and for the last 10 years have coped with bad events & depression by eating but now I'm stuck in a bad habit and feel like I'm addicted to eating crap.
I would like to hear from people who have managed to stop emotional eating/addictive eating and people who have lost 8 stone.
Need to know it's possible and find some hope.

I lost 6 stone.

The only thing that worked for me was a very regimented lifestyle, plus a very restricted set of meals I would eat, but that suits my nature. All this "syns" and "cheat days" bullshit didn't wash with me - if I was "allowed" one biscuit, the whole pack was at risk.

So I'm saying yes it definitely IS POSSIBLE.
You just need to find the method that works for you. It may be SW and Syns or it may be complete cold turkey.

Good luck.

SW and WW have both worked for me in the past but SW is easier for me to follow.

Going to the group and staying for the meetings really helps, physically talking and listening to others gives you insight into why you may do certain things.

Emotional eating is something I do too.
With SW I can still do that but It has made me think about better options to fill that need and how much damage that whole packet of biscuits really does.

For example if I need something sweet I have a hot chocolate with marshmallows( low cal hot choc).

I make my main meals as syn free, healthy and filling as possible and that means I can treat myself.

I was 14st after my first dropped to 9st 5 but had a terrible year and didn't follow my own rules so I'm back at 10st9.

You can do this but diets only work if you change your habits. Stop buying the things you binge on. For me that means no grab bags of salt and vinegar extra crunchy crisps!

I lost 8 stone last year.

Weight start January 2017 - 17st 8.5
Weight end December 2017 - 9st 9

No secrets, no commercial diets. I just decided to stop eating crap, only eat st meal times, eating only whole foods with low carb and low fat (but not no carb or no fat) and 7-10 vegetable potions per day.

I also started running. But really, most of my weight loss is down to what I eat rather than exercise. The exercise is important to my for a healthy heart, rather than weight loss.
