How do I get rid of my huge tummy apron?

After 3 large babies, and 3 c-sections in 4 years, I’m about 4 stone overweight and have a huge tummy overhang that I desperately want rid of. However, I feel like it’s insurmountable right now. I just can’t see how my stomach would ever look even reasonably good ever again. Logically, I know If I lost weight it would look better, (and I need to for health reasons anyway) but I just can’t see past this huge apron of flab! Has anyone been in a similar so and successfully managed to reduce theirs via diet and exercise?

TIA

I think I’m going to give low carb a go. I’ve had results with it on the past but I struggle maintaining that sort of lifestyle though. Carbs are everywhere! And they’re delicious Blush

Tell me about it. Too much sugar does age your skin though, and doing a combination of intermittent fasting and low carb has really good health benefits and gets rid of fat. We have a long running thread for the blood sugar diet followers on here, I'll add a link. It's not for everyone, it's quite strict, but it does get good results. I basically lost 3 stone in 6 months and have now kept it off for 9 months so it definitely worked for me!

@thenewaveragebear1983 I definitely don't think your bikini days are over! Your skin looks good Smile

I've had three pregnancies, two csections, and gained 4+ stone each time. I also have moderate diastasis recti, since the second pregnancy. My tummy looks quite sad (literally, it looks like a downturned mouth 😭) and whilst I am on the way to losing the last 1.5stones and doing Pilates, it does get me down. Good to hear it can get a bit bette with some TLC.

You’d need to lose weight first and then consider an apronectomy to remove loose skin. There’s no way to tighten skin without surgery unfortunately.

Wall there were lots of high waisted ones out last year but I wasn't quite brave enough, maybe this year!

Unfortunately, when you lose the weight it can sometimes be 'worse' in a way because when you're newly confident, the skin can be more obvious than when you're all covered up in baggy t-shirts. This isn't like when people lose 10+ stone though, it's 3-4 stone from all over your body, so the stomach does stand some chance of making some significant improvements, Just on its own, with a good diet and exercise and a bit of tlc. And time. I think of how angry and red my stretch marks were when I was pregnant, I thought they'd never go, but now they are faded so much.
