I just need to let off steam. And hopefully others will empathise.

So I'm 50 and hypothyroid. So I take this into account.

But....

Before Christmas I decided to lose about 3 pounds because that's what I usually put on at Christmas. I ate smaller portions and drank no alcohol. 3 pounds gone within two weeks.

But I just tried to do the same for a similar period. And ate slightly less. Lost nothing!

Oh I hear you. This is why I weigh everyday. The scales can change so much. I can do a few weeks and lose none. The next week I can loose five pounds. I have not lost five pounds but it just didn’t register. Give it a few weeks. Don’t give up

In the first place, use My Fitness Pal or similar to check calories and make sure you’re not taking in more than you think. If not, then a longer period needed I reckon. Sympathies, it’s crap trying to lose and not getting anywhere.

Thanks for the replies!

What I find really annoying is that i was less rigid before Christmas when I lost 3 pounds than I was these last few weeks.

Have to keep going and not give up. Need to give it more time.

It's just the "huh? HUH?" element.
