So am trying to lose weight, should be bloody easy enough as very overweight (being 46) Shock but proving not so.

Has changed so many things since year year, gave up drinking tea(2 sugars per cup, up to 7/8cups a day some days) I haven’t eaten sweets or chocolate since new year or biscuits(whole pack anyone Blush )
Gave up drinking cordial, also very high in sugar, also coke which was not a daily thing but certainly drunk it every week.
I only drink water now, and gallons of it.
Given up smoking.
Given up pastry, bread, potatoes, rice and pasta, my only carbs are now coming from dairy, meat and veg. I’m doing exante man plan so Vlcd and low carb meal, that along with the dietary changes I can’t beleive the weights not flying off given I have around 8 st to lose, starting to lose the will Sad. Wondering if my thyroid is out of whack so have ordered a thyroid test, so will see what that says.

Anyone made big changes but not seen results?

have you not lost any weight at all in the ten weeks?

nometal · 08/03/2019 10:01

Have you tried totting up exactly how many calories are going in every day?

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 08/03/2019 10:04

If you're not losing weight you're consuming too many calories. Download MyFitnessPal and track everything you eat.

makingmiracles · 08/03/2019 11:36

In the ten weeks, 10lbs, which I know is ok, but when I am so big to start off with and considering all the sugar etc I’ve cut out I was expecting a lot more at this stage.
I have 3 200cal exante products a day, plus a fish fillet in sauce which is 127cal and a bag of cauli rice 35cal and a bag of steamed greens (spinage etc) also around 35cal. On the days I’ve been doing HIIT I’ve been having a few slices of salami (30cals per slice)

My bmr(if that’s the correct term, the amount I burn just being alive) I worked out online as being 2700cals, so why the heck isn’t the weight flying off?! This is soooo frustrating, people of similar start weights on the groups have lost 2 stone or more!!

"I only drink water now, and gallons of it. "

A gallon of water weighs 10lbs. Maybe that's the problem.

SurgeHopper · 10/03/2019 02:15

I doubt your bmr is that high - you're obviously eating enough caloriesto only maintain your current weight, not lose.

Also, you need to be brutally honest about your calories : it's all well and good saying you have these exante things, what exactly are they? You'd be better off low carbing to be honest
