I think it's safe to admit that every time I lose weight I gain it back, along with some more for luck.

I'm doubting that I can actually do it alone. I'm currently 6.5 stones over the fattest I can be in the normal BMI range.

I am starting with a psychologist tomorrow to see why I abuse food. Without understanding that bit, I don't think I'll ever succeed. And, I'm getting older, I really don't fancy having a stroke.

Anyone managed to establish why they over eat?

I’ve been dieting for about as long. About 4 stone over weight. I just really like food, cooking, socialising. I’m otherwise quite happy now but I’d still like to lose weight. I had strange childhood .Not neglected but I didn’t feel I was loved. Occasional violence, probably what I thought was normal for the 70/80s but I’d consider it totally unacceptable now with my own children. Food made me feel better.
