Does else feel like this on a diet?

I don’t do crash diets, they are fairly sensible calorie counting, about 1300 per day, 3 stone overweight. However I’m usually ok for a week or two but I then hit a point where I feel really awful - pounding headache, dizzy and faint, absolutely drained of energy. I then go back to overeating and feel ok again. I want to break this cycle but don’t know how. I’ve had blood tests in tge past which don’t give any conclusions.
I was wondering if it is because I eat so much sugar usually my body is coming down from that? Or possibly low vitamins/iron? It just seems that other people my age can cope perfectly on 500 cal diets, cutting carbs completely etc but I can’t even eat moderately. Maybe if I plough through I’ll eventually feel better? Anyone experienced similar?

I’ve never lasted five minutes on a calorie controlled diet because of this. I think it depends what the calories are comprised of - it’s hard to say without knowing the macros.
I do high fat low carb and you do get the initial withdrawal from sugar which for me was a few days. But not late onset like you describe..by that point you should be ok.
Come and have a look at the low carb bootcamp threads if that interest you. There is no counting of anything, clear instructions and knowledgable people.

Sounds like carb flu. Your body adjusting to lack5if processed sugar. Have something salty when this happens I. E a chunk of feta cheese

I’ve just googled carb flu and that does sound like it could be the culprit, especially as I eat loads of processed sugar normally. I’ll try something salty, thanks for the tip.
I’ve also had a teaspoon of sugar in case it’s caused by low blood sugar and I feel better already - typical! It’s so frustrating when most people I know can do slim fast etc no problem.

Ditch the processed junk from your diet & push through the period of cravings with your body. Focus on eating more veg & protein & you will have a much more balanced energy.

Or maybe make some brownies with whole rice flour, cocoa , walnuts and natural sugars like molasses or maple syrup, I follow a low carb way of eating, but I can't cope with too much protein. (so I have these for a meal sometimes)

I have this too - like you pizza I then feel so worn out I go overeat! I can feel dizzy, this didn't happen when I was a young lass. I've brought some salt too.
